군 내 성희롱 피해 원인 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 끊임없이 발생하고 있는 군 내 성폭력 중 여군의 성희롱 피해가 높게 나타나고 있는 점에 주목하여, 여군들의 성희롱 피해 경험에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석하고 군 내 성희롱 대응에의 시사점을 도출하고자 하였다. 문제 제기는 꾸준히 되어 왔으나 실증적인 연구는 부족했던 군 내 성희롱에 대해 여군을 대상으로 조사된최근 자료를 활용하여 군 내 성희롱 피해 원인 분석을 시도하였다는 점에서 본 연구의 의의를 찾을 수 있으며, 직장 내 성희롱 관련 선행연구들과도 관점이 차별화된다. 성희롱을 설명하는 사회문화적 모형과 조직적 모형에 기반한 요인들을 포함한 연구모형을 구축하고 이항 로지스틱 회귀분석을 통해 군 내 성희롱 피해경험에 영향을미치는 요인을 분석한 결과, 응답한 여군의 연령이 낮을수록, 그리고 가해자 처벌이공정하지 않다고 인식할수록 군 내 성희롱 피해를 경험할 승산이 높았다. 근무부대의 유형도 군 내 성희롱 피해경험에 유의한 영향을 미치는 요인으로 나타나, 정책부대에 비해 야전부대에 근무하는 경우 성희롱 피해 승산이 높은 것으로 분석되었다. 반면, 계급 및 근무기간과 같은 여군 개인의 조직 내 근무 관련 특성은 성희롱 피해유형별로 살펴보았을 때에도 통계적으로 유의한 수준에서의 영향력이 확인되지 않았다. 본 연구의 분석결과를 바탕으로 일부 ‘사고자’ 개인의 일탈 내지 잘못된 행동으로 한정적으로 이해하는 군 내 성희롱 예방교육 방식에의 변화를 촉구하였다.

영문 초록

Although sexual violence cases in the military have become an issue through press reports and social interest in their seriousness has increased, research on sexual violence such as sexual harassment in the military is lacking, which is compared to a considerable amount of research on sexual harassment in general social organizations. In this regard, this study focuses on sexual harassment in the military; and analyzes the causes of sexual harassment victimization in the military. Data on 731 female soldiers from the survey conducted by the National Human Rights Commission of Korea in 2019 were used for the analysis. Through a research model based on sociocultural and organizational models for explaining causes of sexual harassment, binary logistic regression analysis was performed in the study. The probability of experiencing sexual harassment increases as the age of the female soldier decreases and she perceives that punishment for perpetrators of sexual harassment is unfair. In terms of the types of military units, female soldiers who serves in the field units compared to the policy units were more likely to experience sexual harassment. Unlike the hypothesis, however, rank and length of military service has little effect on sexual harassment victimization. Based on the analysis results of the study, it is highlighted to change the way of education for preventing sexual harassment prevention in the military, in which sexual harassment was still understood as deviance or wrong behavior of a few individuals.
