국문 초록

인간의 가장 중요한 관계 형성의 출발점이 되는 ‘결혼’ 의식과 그 의미는 러시아 문화 지형에서 다양한 형태로 의미화되어 발현된다. 특히, 러시아의 경우 슬라브 전통, 유럽화, 1917년 혁명이라는 과정을 거치면서 시대별로 결혼의 의미가 동시대 유럽과는 사뭇 다른 형태로 표출되곤 하였다. 러시아의 결혼문화는 18세기 표트르 대제의 서구화 정책 이전까지는 슬라브 민간 신앙과 러시아 정교의 독특한 혼합 속에서‘축제와 잔치’라는 개념으로 진행되었다. 서구화 이후 러시아의 결혼 문화는 복잡한 양상을 지녔지만, 기본적으로는 가족과 가족, 가문과 가문의 결합이라는 사회관계망 속에서 출세와 입신의 수단으로 인식되었다. 이후 전통 유산과의 단절을 기치로 내세운 혁명 정부에 의해 전통적인 결혼 문화는 지양되었고, 작스(결혼등록소)에서 간략한 예식과 신고를 하는 것으로 대치되었다. 그뿐만 아니라 소련 시대에는 더욱 자유로워진 성 의식과 향상된 여성의 지위로 인해 전통적인 가정과 결혼의 의미가 변화하였다. 소비에트 연방 해체 이후에 러시아에서는 서구 자본주의 영향으로 간소한 결혼의식과 화려한 결혼피로연이 정착되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 러시아 문화지형에서 다양한 시기에 발현된 ‘결혼’을 ‘문화 코드(culture code)’의 개념을 통해 문화적 의미화를 시도해보고자 한다. 문화 코드는 개개인, 한 국가나 민족이 자신의 삶을 살아가고 행동하는 과정에서 문화적 의식이 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 파악하기 위한 유의미한 하나의 수단으로 작용한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 러시아 문화지형에서 ‘결혼’의 의미를 문화 코드를 중심으로 하여 ‘결혼’의 기원과 개념을 살펴본 후, ‘결혼’의 문화적 의미가 시대를 변화하면서 어떠한 형태로 변모되는지를 문학 작품 등의 구체적인 사례를 통해서 고찰해볼 것이다.

영문 초록

The ritual of 'marriage' and its meaning, which is the starting point of forming the most important human relationship, is expressed in various forms in the Russian cultural landscape. In particular, in the case of Russia, the meaning of marriage was expressed in a form that was quite different from that of contemporaneous Europe as it went through the processes of Slavic tradition, Europeanization, and the 1917 revolution. Until the westernization policy of Peter the Great in the 18th century, Russian marriage culture was conducted under the concept of ‘festival and feast’ in a unique mixture of Slavic folk beliefs and Russian Orthodox religion. After westernization, the Russian marriage culture had a complex aspect, but it was basically recognized as a means of success and advancement in the social network of family and family, family and family union. Afterwards, the traditional marriage culture was abolished by the revolutionary government, which set the banner of severance from traditional heritage, and was replaced with a brief ceremony and declaration at the Jax (marriage registry). In addition, during the Soviet era, the meaning of traditional family and marriage changed due to a more liberal sexual consciousness and improved status of women. After the dissolution of the Soviet Union, simple wedding ceremonies and splendid wedding receptions were established in Russia under the influence of Western capitalism. In this paper, we try to make cultural meaning through the concept of 'culture code' of 'marriage' that appeared at various times in the Russian cultural landscape. The cultural code acts as a meaningful means to understand the influence of cultural consciousness in the process of living and acting of an individual, a country, or a nation. Therefore, this thesis examines the origin and concept of 'marriage' by focusing on the cultural code of the meaning of 'marriage' in the Russian cultural landscape, and then examines how the cultural meaning of 'marriage' changes over time as a literary work. We will consider it through concrete examples.
