핵심 역량의 관점에 기반한 국어교육의 재구조화 연구

국문 초록

이 연구는 최근 교육학에서 제기되고 있는 핵심 역량 담론에 대해 국어교육적 시각에서의 비판적인 점검과 수용이 필요하다는 문제의식에서 출발한다. 이에 따라 직업교육이나 훈련 분야에서 배태된 핵심 역량에 대해 교육의 본질에 부합하는 방향으로 재개념하는 작업을 수행하였고, 교육적 관점에서 핵심 역량의 하위 요소를 지식, 기능, 태도, 메타 능력으로 구성할 것을 밝혔다. 나아가 교육학의 담론을 일방적으로 수용하는 차원에서 벗어나, 국어교육의 연구 결과가 교육학의 연구로 선순환될 수 있도록 국어교육의 관점에서 핵심 역량을 구현할 수 있는 교육과정의 체제 전반에 대해서도 탐색하였다. 자국어교육의 본질과 목표에 대해 캐나다, 호주 등의 외국의 사례를 조사, 분석함으로써 핵심 역량의 하위 내용들과 국어교육의 목표, 내용간에 상당한 유사점이 발견됨을 확인하였다. 이 같은 인식을 바탕으로 핵심 역량 증진을 위한 국어교육의 재구조화 방안의 하나로, 핵심 역량을 교과교육의 범위 내에서 일부 반영하는 차원을 넘어서서 ‘교과 학습’과 더불어 ‘범교과 학습’으로의 설계 및 실천 가능성을 제언하였다.

영문 초록

This study starts from the critical mind that the discerning check and acceptance from the perspective of Korean language education in relation to discourse of the core competence which is brought up recently in pedagogy are necessary. Above all, I reconceptualized the core competence which originated from vocational education or training field towards the essence of education and clarified its subordinate concepts as knowledge, skill and meta ability from the educational view. I didn’t settle for the dimension that people accept the discussion of pedagogy unilaterally. Furthermore, I investigated the overall system of curriculum which makes it possible to realize the core competence from the Korean language education viewpoint, letting the study result of Korean language education circulate into the study of pedagogy. For the essence and purpose of native language education, I confirmed that there is considerable similarity between the subordinate contents of the core competence and the purpose and contents of Korean language education by examining and analyzing the cases of foreign countries such as Canada and Australia. Based on such awareness, I proposed the possibility of plan and practice towards cross-curriculum as well as curriculum as one of reconceptualizing ways of Korean language education to promote the core competence, going beyond the dimension which reflects the core competence partly in the scope of the curriculum.
