중국인 학습자가 지각한 한국어 교사의 자율성지지, 학업참여, 학업성취도의 관계

국문 초록

본고는 자기결정성 이론에 입각하여 교사의 자율성지지가 학업참여와 학업성취도에 영향을 미치는지와, 이러한 영향에서 자율적조절과 통제적조절이라는 두 종류의 자기결정동기의 매개효과를 검증하였다. 이를 위하여 한국어를 공부하는 중국인 학습자 172명의 자료가 수집되었다. 학습자들은 교사의 자율성지지, 학업적 자기조절, 학업참여에 대한 설문지에 응답하였고 기말시험 점수가 학업성취도 변수로 활용되었다. 변인들 간의 상호관련성을 탐색하기 위하여 상관분석을 실시한 후 구조방정식으로 모형을 상정하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과 첫째, 교사의 자율성지지는 학습자의 자율적동기에 긍정적 영향을 주는 반면 통제적동기는 부정적 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 자율적/통제적 동기는 교사의 자율성지지와 학업참여 간을 매개하였다. 셋째, 학업참여는 자율적/통제적 동기와 학업 성취도 간을 매개하였다. 연구 결과는 교사의 자율성지지가 학습자의 자기결정동기와 학업 결과가 긍정적으로 변화하도록 기여할 수 있음을 시사하였다.

영문 초록

This study investigated the influence of teachers’ autonomy support on students’ academic engagement and achievement, then analyzed the mediating effects of two kinds of self-determined motivation, autonomous regulation and controlled regulation. One hundred and seventy two Chinese students studying Korean completed a survey on perceived teacher autonomy support, self-regulation of learning and engagement. As a measure of academic achievement, each student’s final exam score was used. To examine the relations among these factors, a correlation analysis was performed. Structural equation modeling showed that (a) teachers’ autonomy support positively influenced students’ autonomous regulation while negatively affecting controlled regulation; (b) the relation between teachers’ autonomy support and engagement was mediated by two types of motivation; and (c) the relation between each type of motivation and achievement was mediated by engagement, respectively. The results imply that teachers’ autonomy support may contribute to students’ self-determined motivation and academic outcomes.
