교양교육과정에서 내·외국인 협업 수업에 대한 연구

국문 초록

목적：이 연구는 대학 교양교육과정에서 외국인 학부생과 내국인 학부생이 함께 협업 수업을 진행한 사례를 살펴 그 성과를 논의하는 데 목적이 있다. 방법：이를 위해 A대학의 실제 수업 과정과 수업에 참여한 학습자 반응을 분석하였다. 그리고 결과를 통해 향후 대학의 교양교육과정 개발에서 참고할만한 시사점을 도출하였다. 결과：여기에서 제안한 내·외국인 협업 수업은 외국인 유학생에게는 한국 문화적응 측면 외에도 실질적인 학업 기술 습득 측면에서 교육적 효과가 있다. 또한 내국인 학생에게는 글로벌 시대에 국제적 감각을 기르고, 상호문화적 능력을 높이는 기회를 제공하였다. 그러나 이 수업은 교수자 역량이 중요하게 작용하며, 수업 운영이나 환경 개선에 대한 학교 측의 지원도 주요 변인으로 작용한다. 결론：이 연구에서 실시한 협업 수업은 한 학기만 진행했기 때문에 그 결과를 모두 교육과정에 재적용하기에는 미흡한 점이 많다. 그러나 내국인과 외국인 학습자 모두가 만족할 수 있는 수업을 제안하고 이에 대해 학습자와 교수자들의 반응을 실증적으로 확인했다는 점에서 교육적으로 유익한 시도였다고 본다.

영문 초록

Purpose：The purpose of this study was to inspect the cases where foreign undergraduates and Korean undergraduates collaborated in liberal arts courses and discuss the results. Methods：We analyzed a course and its results in the A university during a semester and examined the educational meaning of this class for each learner. In addition, through the discussion of the results, we draw implications for the future development of liberal arts curriculum. Results：The proposed collaboration class between Koreans and foreigners have educational effects for foreign undergraduate students in terms of practical academic learning skills as well as cultural adaptation. In addition, it was an opportunity for Korean undergraduates to acquire international sense and enhance intercultural ability in the global age. However, we found that the teaching competence of instructor is a significant factor and observed that the support of university to the progress of class and improvement on the classroom environment plays a key role in the success or failure of the class. Conclusion：Since the collaboration class conducted in this study only lasted one semester, it is insufficient to reapply all the results to the whole curriculum. However, it was an educationally beneficial attempt in that it suggested classes that both Korean and foreign learners could be satisfied with and empirically confirmed the responses of both learners and instructors.
