국문 초록

목적：이 연구의 목적은 학습자의 인지적 공감을 촉진하는 교육토론의 기제를 밝히는 것이다. 방법：교육토론과 인지적 공감의 관계를 확인하기 위해 공감의 차원에 관한 선행 연구를 고찰하였다. 또한, 교육토론의 원리 중 인지적 공감을 촉진할 수 있는 기제에 대해 살펴보았다. 이를 실증적으로 확인하기 위해 120명의 토론 참여자를 대상으로 서면 인터뷰를 시행하였으며, Nvivo11 프로그램을 사용하여 수집한 자료를 노드 구조로 위계화하여 분석하였다. 결과：인지적 공감을 촉진하는 교육토론의 기제로는 양면 조사를 통한 관점수용 기제, 편향동화와 확증편향의 극복 기제, 상대의 시점에서 자기를 반박하는 자기 성찰 기제가 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 결론：이 연구를 통해 교육토론이 학습자의 인지적 차원의 공감을 촉진하는 데 기여함을 논의하고, 이러한 양상을 학습자의 진술을 통해 구체적으로 확인하였다.

영문 초록

Purpose：The purpose of this study is to establish the mechanism of the academic debate that promotes the learners’ empathy. Methods：The results of the study on the dimension of empathy were investigated to confirm the relationship between the academic debate and the empathy, and the principles of the academic debate that promotes empathy were explored. To verify this empirically, a written interview was conducted with 120 participants in academic debate, and the collected data was stratified into the node structure using the Nvivo11 program. Debate participants’ statements about their experiences in the academic debate were analyzed and categorized. Results：It has been confirmed that there is a mechanism for accepting perspective through two-sided investigations, a mechanism for overcoming biased assimilation and confirmation bias, and a mechanism for self-reflection that refutes itself at the other’s point of view. Conclusion：In this study, the contribution of the academic debate to promoting the cognitive empathy of learners was discussed, and these aspects in detail through the learners’ statements were confirmed.
