성장의 관점에서 본 평생의 국어 평가 체제

국문 초록

목적：본 연구는 미래 지향적 관점에서 국어 평가 체제를 살펴보고, 이를 바탕으로 개별 평가들의 목적과 특성을 분명히 하기 위한 연구이다. 지금까지 평가론은 대체로 학교 안 국어교육으로 범위를 한정하였는데, 범위를 학교 밖, 특히 평생 학습의 장으로 넓혀서 거시적인 관점에서 국어 평가를 바라보고자 하였다. 방법：이때 중요한 것은 평가를 ‘사람이 평생에 걸쳐 학습하며 성장하는 과정’ 자체로 보는 관점의 전환이다. 이 관점에 서면 대상으로서의 ‘피평가자(被評價者)’는 자발적 혹은 제도적으로 평가에 참여하는 ‘평가 지원/이수자’로 재개념화된다. 결과：성장의 관점에서 보면 학교 안 평가는 진단, 학습 개선, 진로 관리에 초점이 있고 학교 밖 평가는 진단, 진로 관리, 조사 참여에 초점이 있다. 그러면서 이들은 ‘평생 학습과 병행하는 평생 평가’라는 점에서 연계된다. 결론：이를 위해서는 미래 사회에 필요한 국어 능력과 역량을 분명히 하고, ‘기술ㆍ사회 발전에 대응하는 사람의 성장’이라는 관점에서 평가를 바라보아야 한다. 평생 평가 체제의 조망 아래 평가별 역할을 분명히 하고 개인과 집단의 평가 이력을 종합함으로써 국어 평가의 질을 높일 수 있다.

영문 초록

Purpose：This study aims to examine the Korean language evaluation system in a future-oriented perspective and to clarify the purpose and characteristic of each assessment situation. Formerly, the evaluation theory had largely been limited to Korean language education within the school. However, this study attempts to apply the theory to the field of life-long and life-wide learning in order to understand the evaluation of Korean language in a macroscopic perspective. Methods：What is important at this point is a shift in the perspective, to see the evaluation as ‘a lifelong process throughout which a person learns and grows.’ In this viewpoint, the ‘evaluatee’ is re-conceptualized as an ‘evaluation applicant/participant’ who either voluntarily or institutionally participates in the evaluation. He or she can participate in a lifetime evaluation system by classifying various types of evaluations within and outside of the school according to certain criteria. Results：From the perspective of growth, in-school evaluation focuses on diagnosis, improvement of learning and career management, while out-of-school evaluation focuses on diagnosis, career management and investigation. Despite this difference, two categories are linked as they are both ‘lifetime evaluations that carry on with lifelong learning.’ Conclusion：We need to clarify what Korean language abilities and competences are needed in the future, and look at the evaluation in terms of individual growth in response to technological and social development. There should be a system which not only precisely clarifies the role of each assessment under the view of the lifetime evaluation system but also comprehensively manages the evaluation history of individuals and groups.
