재외동포 한국어교육의 목적에 관한 일고찰

국문 초록

목적：이 연구는 재외동포 대상 한국어교육의 목적을 비판적으로 검토해 보고, 이를 바탕으로 현실적 차원에서 재외동포 한국어교육의 목적을 재정립하는 데 있다. 방법：이를 위해 두 가지 문제를 살펴보았다. 첫째, 한국어교육의 학습 대상인 재외동포의 개념과 범주를 어떻게 설정할 것인가이다. 둘째, 설정된 범주를 근거로 할 때 현재 재외동포 한국어교육의 목적은 타당한가이다. 이러한 문제를 바탕으로 재외동포 한국어교육의 목적에 대한 방향을 탐색하였다. 결과：현재 재외동포 한국어교육의 목적은 민족정체성 형성과 유지에 중점을 둔 나머지 한국사회의 현실과 재외동포의 특수성을 간과하고 있다는 결과를 도출하였다. 결론：본고에서는 재외동포 한국어교육의 목적을 다음과 같이 재정립할 것을 제안하였다. 하나는 상호문화주의 관점에서 계승어로서 한국어교육의 실천을 통해 가족 및 소수공동체의 유대감을 회복하는 것이고, 다른 하나는 한국사회의 분단 및 다문화 현실과 재외동포의 민족적 시각을 아울러 이해하고 나아가 거주국의 사회구성원으로서 창의적인 혼종문화 생산의 주체가 될 수 있도록 하는 통합적 안목을 갖추는 것이다.

영문 초록

Purpose：The purpose of the study is to critically review the purpose of Korean language education for overseas Koreans and to redefine the purpose of Korean language education for overseas Koreans on a realistic level. Methods：In order to accomplish this research purpose, the following research questions are constructed. First, how to set up the concept and category of overseas Koreans who are subject to Korean language education. Second, based on the set category, the current purpose of Korean language education for overseas Koreans is whether it is reasonable or not. Based on these problems, we explored the direction of the purpose of Korean language education for overseas Koreans. Results：The findings of data analysis showed that the conclusion is that the purpose of Korean language education for overseas Koreans overlooked the reality of Korean society and the special nature of overseas Koreans as it only focused on the formation and maintenance of national identity. Conclusion：Instructional implications for the classroom and suggestions for further study were also discussed. Through the practice of Korean language education as the heritage from the perspective of interculturalism, we should restore the bond between family and minority communities and have an integrated eye to become the main agent of creative mixed culture production.
