사내기술대학 수강생 대상 그래픽 계산기를 활용한 수학 수업 사례

국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 지방에 소재한 사내기술대학의 수강생들에게 그래픽 계산기를 활용한 수업이 도움을 주는 부분을 파악하여 산업현장에서 필요로 하는 교수-학습의 역량을 향상시키는데 있다. 사례연구의 일환으로 중소 도시의 사내 기술 대학에 다니는 1학년 및 2학년 학생들을 대상으로 TI-Nspire를 활용한 수업을 대상으로 연구를 진행하였다. 대부분의 학생들은학습에 대한 열정이 있고 활동적이었으나 수학에 대한 어려움으로 학업을 중단하였거나 수학때문에 진로를 바꾼 경험이 있는 성인학생들이었다. 연구자는 2017년 3월부터 수업을 참관하면서 메모한 내용과 카메라를 사용한 것 외에 설문지와 면담 후에 전사한 자료를 수집하였으며 2020년 7월에 추가로 강사 대상으로 면담을 실시하였다. 사례 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연구에 참여한 중소도시의 사내기술대학 학생들은 오랫동안 수학 공부와 단절되어있었고 대부분 수학을 두려워하였으며 낮은 수준의 수학 지식을 가지고 있었다. 둘째, 그럼에도 대부분의 연구참여자들은 종강 후에 TI-Nspire 활용에 대해 매우 긍정적인 반응을 보였는데, 수학 문제를 다룰 때 시간 절약과 정확한 정보를 얻을 수 있다는 부분에 대하여 긍정적인 견해가 다소 향상된 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 테크놀로지를 활용한 협동수업은 자기 성찰과 함께 수학적 개념을 다루는데 도움을 주는 것으로 드러났다. 참여 학생들은 그래픽 계산기를 다루면서 함수 키를 누르고 계산 과정을 다시 인식하면서 산업체 현장에서 협동학습을 통해 서로 배울 기회를 얻게 되었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to improve the teaching-learning competency required in the industrial field by identifying the parts where classes using graphic calculators are helpful to students of in-house technical colleges located in the provinces. As a case study, this study was conducted targeting first-year and second-year students attending in-house technical colleges in small and medium-sized cities using TI-Nspire. Most of the students were active and passionate about learning, but they were adult students who had to drop out of school due to difficulties in mathematics or change career paths because of studying mathematics. In addition to taking notes and using a camera while observing the class since March 2017, the researcher collected questionnaires and transcribed data after an interview. In July 2020, additional interviews were conducted with the instructor three times. The case study results are as follows. First, the participating students were cut off from their math studies for a long time, and most of them were afraid of math and had a low level of math knowledge. Second, nevertheless, most of the study participants showed a very positive reaction to the use of TI-Nspire after the end of the lecture, and it was found that the positive view was somewhat improved in terms of saving time and obtaining accurate information when dealing with math problems. Third, it was found that cooperative classes using technology help to deal with mathematical concepts along with self-reflection. Participating students were given the opportunity to learn from each other through cooperative learning in the industrial field by pressing function keys while handling the graphic calculator and re-recognizing the calculation process.
