시청각장애학생 부모의 자녀 양육의 어려움과 지원 요구

국문 초록

연구목적: 이 연구에서는 시청각장애학생 부모가 자녀를 양육하면서 겪는 어려움과 자녀 양육을 위해 필요한 지원이 무엇인지를 파악하여 향후 시청각장애 자녀 양육을 위한 지원 방안을 모색하고자 하였다. 연구방법: 이를 위해 시청각장애 자녀를 둔 부모 4명을 대상으로 FGI를 실시하였고, 면담 자료는 귀납적 분석 방법을 통해 분석하였다. 연구결과: 이 연구의 결과를 제시하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 시청각장애학생 부모는 자녀 양육 과정에서 시청각장애학교 부재와 교수·학습 지원의 미비에 따른 어려움, 자녀와의 의사소통 및 장애 진행에 따른 어려움, 장애 발견 이후 관련 서비스 연계 지원 부족으로 인한 어려움을 나타냈다. 둘째, 시청각장애학생 부모는 원활한 자녀 양육을 위해 시청각장애 전문기관 설치와 전문인력 양성 및 배치, 원활한 학교교육을 위한 지원, 자녀 양육을 위해 필요한 정보제공과 부모교육, 장애진단 및 자녀 발달 촉진을 위한 지원을 요구하였다. 결론: 연구 결과와 논의를 바탕으로 시청각장애학생 및 가족지원을 위한 시사점을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate support plans for raising deaf-blind children by identifying difficulties in raising children and the support needs of parents of deaf-blind students. Method: Focus group interviews(FGI) were conducted with four parents of deaf-blind children, and the interview data were analyzed through an inductive analysis method. Results: First, in the process of raising their children, parents of deaf-blind students suffered from difficulties due to 'the absence of a school for the deaf-blind and lack of support for teaching and learning', 'difficulties in communication with their children and the progression of disabilities', and 'the lack of support for special education related services after the discovery of the disability'. Second, for proper parenting, parents of deaf-blind students requested 'installation of specialized institutions for the deaf-blind and training and placement of experts', 'support for proper school education', 'providing information necessary for raising children and educating parents', 'disability diagnosis and support for promoting children's development'. Conclusion: Based on the research results and discussions, implications for supporting deaf-blind students and their families were presented.
