허무주의의 논리와 기독교의 필연성

국문 초록

니체의 허무주의는 최고 가치의 정립과 붕괴의 과정을 동시에 포함한다. 서양 형이상학의 역사에서 최고 가치는 기독교의 신과 직접 연관된다. 그런데 삶을 지배하는 최고 가치로서 신은 반드시 탈가치화한다. 이것을 니체는 ‘신의 죽음’이라는 말로 나타냈다. 신의 죽음은 이미 신이라는 최고 가치가 확정될 때 예고된다. 그래서 최고 가치의 정립과 탈가치화는 일정한 패턴을 지닌 논리가 된다. 서양의 기독교 역사도 이 허무주의의 논리에 지배를 받는다. 즉 기독교교리의 확산은 근본적으로 허무주의적이다. 그래서 신의 죽음은 기독교 교리의 축소가 아니라 확대의 결과가 된다. 이처럼 신의 죽음은 반드시 신에 관한 믿음이 점점 더 확산되어야 하는 역설을 담고 있다. 동일한 것의 영원회귀 사상도 기독교 전파와 연관된다. 왜냐하면 허무주의의 논리에서 최고 가치의 지배와 몰락은 필연적으로 반복하는 사건이기 때문이다. 이러한 최고 가치의 정립과 탈가치화의 반복이 결국 기독교 확산이 거듭해서 일어날 수밖에 없는 까닭이 된다. 니체에게 기독교 교리는 비판 대상이자 동시에 사유의 동반자이다. 허구적 가치인 기독교를 해체하면 할수록 그렇게 원치않았던 날조된 신에 관한 교리도 더 살아날 수밖에 없다. 이렇게 반복하며 확산될 수밖에 없는 서양 기독교를 비극적 운명처럼 긍정하고 견뎌야 하는 자, 니체는 그 모델로서 ‘초인’을 말하고 있다.

영문 초록

According to Nietzsche, Nihilism implicates the creation and extinction of the highest value. This value has direct relation to God in the history of western metaphysic. The concept, ‘God’ as the highest value, in general has meaning of absoluteness. But in the context of nihilism, all values must be devaluated. Nietzsche thinks of the devaluated highest value in the metaphysic as ‘the death of God’. It's very particular that When God is constructed as the highest value, the death of God is beforehand notified. In this point of view, nihilism indicates the characteristic logic in itself, which progresses with constructing and de-constructing. The history of western christianity is derived from the pattern of nihilism. In short, the great spreading of christianity from old time to now is the inevitable outcome of nihilism. The death of God has the paradoxical meaning of the great spreading abroad of christian dogma. The enlarging of christian dogma also depends on the eternal return of the same. Because the construction and deconstruction of the highest value is the repeatedly episode in the progress of nihilism. The eternal return of the same pattern of nihilism is the cause of the immensely prevailing of christianity. In Nietzsche's point of view christianity is the object of the contradictory meaning, on the one hand, the opponent object, on the other, the inevitable and necessary. In this point the Overman is the very important model, which endures and overcomes the contradictory christianity.
