오비디우스의 ..변신이야기..속에 나오는 판 플루트와 미다스 왕 이야기와..삼국유사..에 등장하는 만파식적과 경문왕 이야기는 헤르메스와 여와(女.)에서 출발하는 동서 마술피리 이야기를 그 원형으로 하고 있으며 ‘헤르메스 지팡이’와 ‘복희여와도’로 상징되는 고대 연금술의 지혜와 관계된다. 니체가 ..비극의탄생..에서 전하는 로마 티베리우스의 시대에 울려 퍼졌다는 ‘판의 죽음’은 비극의 죽음뿐만 아니라 연금술적인 지혜의 종말을 의미하며 고대 수메르 시대까지거슬러 올라가는 여신과 뱀 숭배의 최후의 몰락을 의미한다. ..변신이야기..의 판플루트와 미다스 왕 이야기와 ..삼국유사..의 만파식적과 경문왕 이야기는 아폴론의 시각이 아니라 헤르메스의 시각에서 볼 때만 그 진의(眞意)가 드러나며 비의(秘儀)와 선도(仙道)에 입문한 미다스 왕과 경문왕의 이야기가 주목되었을 때그 연금술적 의미가 드러난다. 니체가 ‘그리스적인 것’, ‘영원회귀’, ‘비의신앙’을같은 것으로 보고 ‘독수리’와 ‘뱀’의 상징을 통해 차라투스트라를 등장시키고 ‘자기 초극의 인간(Ubermensch)’을 설파하는 것은 고대 연금술의 지혜의 부활을꾀한 것이라 할 수 있다.

영문 초록

Hermes, who is normally regarded as the herold of Zeus in greek mythology,originally belonged to the pre-Olympian God in Sumerian period like Medusa before he was integrated in the new Olympian pantheon, as Arthur Frothingham had demonstrated. The god Pan, appearing as the son of Hermes in Greek mythology, was also an Oriental deity, who served the Great Mother Cybele just as Satyros did. The stories of Apollo and Pan, Midas and donkey ears in ‘Metamorphoses’ of Ovid mark the decline of the ancient alchemical wisdom which was represented by Hermes’ Caduceus and Pans flute, both of which symbolized alchemical unity of celestial and earthly energy. The process of exclusion of the earthly dimension from the alchemical unity revealed itself in the monopolization of Apollonian power of sun and light, and the killing of the snake goddess who represented the power of darkness and the invisible world. The korean version of the story of King Midas, namely the story of King Kyongmun, where the pan flute was replaced by the snakes, shows how the Magic Flute and snake confront the same fate, as soon as the alchemical union of Yin and Yang is lost. According to the alchemical ideal, the ‘Magic Flute’ of Mozart - where the snake and the Queen of night were also destroyed - is nothing else than the reproduction of the same story which exists since the story of the King of Midas.
