간경도감 간행 지주의 『유가론소』 잔간 분석

국문 초록

본고는 1462년 조선의 간경도감(刊經都監)에서 간행되어 1938년까지 송광사(松廣寺)에 보존되어 있던 지주(智周)의 『유가론소(瑜伽論疏)』 35~36권의 잔간(殘簡)을 분석하는 것을 목표로 삼았다. 현재 이 문헌은 오직 조선의 간행본만이 남아 있다. 또한 그에 대한 연구 역시 거의 진행되지 않았으므로, 잔간 전체를 먼저 소개하고, 찬술 시기를 추정해본 뒤, 구체적인 내용을 분석하였다. 먼저 지주(678-733)는 그의 스승인 혜소(慧沼, 648-714)가 세상을 떠난 714년 전후로 박양(樸陽) 보성사(報成寺)에 주석했던 것으로 보인다. 그러므로 『유가론소』 역시 이 시기 이후에 작성된 것으로 볼 수 있다. 다음으로 『유가론소(瑜伽論疏)』의 주석 방식은 둔륜의 『유가론기』와 마찬가지로 당대(唐代)에 나온 수많은 『유가론』 주석서들의 내용을 선별하여 제시한 것임을 확인할 수 있었다. 그간 8세기 초에 나온 『유가론』 주석서로는 『유가론기』』만이 현존했는데, 『유가론소』 잔간의 분석을 통해 두 문헌의 주석 방식이 유사하다는 점을 확인할 수 있었다. 과목(科目)에 있어서는 8세기에 나온 『유가론소』, 『유가론기』, 그리고 『유가사지론의연』이 서로 밀접하게 영향을 끼치고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 『유가론소』에 나온 홍복(弘福)과 이천(伊川)의 주석이 『유가론기』의 태사(泰師)와 경사(景師)의 주석과 일치한다는 점에 착안하여, 홍복과 이천의 누구인지를 추정해보았다. 홍복은 장안(長安) 홍복사(弘福寺)에 머물면서 『유가론』에 대한 주석서를 썼던 7세기 저명한 승려일 것이고, 이천은 7세기 초 낙양(洛陽)에 병합되었던 이천 지역의 사찰에 머물면서 『유가론』에 대한 주석서를 썼던 저명한 승려일 것으로 추정해보았다. 특히 이천의 사찰에 대해서는 현장과 관련된 정토사(淨土寺)를 집중 조명해보았다.

영문 초록

This article aims to analyze the incomplete books of Yujialun-shu Book 35 and 36 which were written by Zhizhou (智周, 678-733) and were published in Gangyeongdogam (刊經都監) at 1462, during the Joseon (朝鮮) period, and was preserved at Songgwangsa (松廣寺) Temple until 1938. Only the Joseon period publication of these books remain at present. As there is a lack of study conducted on these books, this article will first introduce the incomplete books first, estimate the period when they were written and then analyze the details of the book. First, Zhizhou appeared to be residing at Baochengsi (報成寺) Temple at Puyang (濮陽) around 714, which was around the time his teacher, Huizhao (慧沼, 648-714) passed. Therefore, it is possible to suspect thatYujialun-shu was written around this time. The annotations in Yujialun-shu were written by selecting phrases from main books of many commentary of Yogacarabhumi Sastra (瑜伽師地論) translated in 648, just like Yugaron-gi (瑜伽論記) by Dunryun (遁倫). Up until this point, Yugaron-gi was the only annotation book of Yogacarabhumi Sastra during the early 8th century, and it is possible to see that the annotation method of the two books are similar through analyzing the incomplete books of Yujialun-shu. In classification system (科目), Yujialun-shu, Yugaron-gi, and Yujiashidilun-yiyan (瑜伽師地論義演), which were published in the 8th century, are closely related. In addition, based on the fact that the annotations of Hongfu (弘福) and Yichuan (伊川) in Yujialun-shu are consistent with the annotations of Taishi (泰師) and Jingshi (景師) in Yugaron-gi, the identities of Hongfu and Yichuan were assumed. It is assumed that Hongfu was a famous monk in the 7th century who stayed in Hongfusi (弘福寺) Temple at Changan (長安) and wrote an annotation book on Yogacarabhumi Sastra, and Yichuan was a famous monk who stayed at a temple in Yichuan area, which merged with Luoyang (洛陽) in early 7th century, and wrote an annotation book on Yogacarabhumi Sastra. In case of the temple in Yichuan, this article focused on Jingtusi (淨土寺) Temple related to the site.
