국문 초록

독일 통일 후에도 독일 땅에서 누적된 감정의 응어리와 사회적 기대의 절망이 극우와 극좌의 사람들로 하여금 종종 사회적 문제를 일삼게만들고 있다. 중세 유럽에서 마녀 사냥이 “마음에 들지 않는” 기독교의반대파를 몰아가듯이 히틀러 시대 나치는 반대파를 몰아내기 위해 서로를 의심하게 만들어 그들을 공산주의자로 매도했다. 한국동란 직후 한국 사회 일각에서도 극우파 일부가 못 마땅한 좌파 일부를 빨갱이로 낙인찍고 우리 사회에서 축출을 모색했고 지금까지도 모색하고 있다. 과거의 성공을 통해 지금도 여전히 보수파 일부 그룹이 극좌파를 종 북좌파란 이름으로 그들을 처단하려 시도하기도 한다. 한국사회에도 시대가 바뀌고 시민의식이 바뀌어 민주주의가 성숙되어가는 과도선상에 있다. 여전히 한 때의 악몽을 되풀이하는 행위는 삼가야 할 것으로 판단되어 본 논문은 통일 후 오늘날 독일의 극우파 또는 극좌파의 모습을거울삼아 살펴볼 필요가 있다. 독일이나 우리의 과거의 극단을 거울삼아 우리나라에서 이런 형태를 종식시키기 위해서 노력해야 한다. 북한도 이성을 되찾아 어린 김정은이 책임 있는 정치지도자로 거듭나야 한다. 군사대결보다는 대화를 통한 남북의 타협이 안정된 모습으로 동북아에 다가올 때 양국은 새로운 세계 평화에 기여할 수 있을 것이다. 새로운 시대는 새로운 사고를 요구하고 있다.

영문 초록

In Korea, one kind of extremists were armed communist guerillas right after the end of the Korean war. Afterwards, strongly ideologically influenced people like that have been called either "communist" or "bbalgaengi" (someone acting in South Korea in the interest of North Korea). Nowadays, again, they are the target of right-wing extremists who want to destroy them. This is like a medieval witch-hunt. In such dark times, that kind of comparison comes to mind. In bizarre show trials, the first-time revolutionary leaders were prose cuted and forced by torture to confess the most absurd crimes. These confessions caused world-wide astonishment. Nowadays we do know that those who did not confess weren't prosecuted in a public court but executed behind the scenes. Subsequently, hundreds of people were executed. Anyone who had been friends with one of the victims, and their friends, too, were torn into the inferno. Under the cloud of general suspicion everybody tried to prove their loyalty by denouncing others before being denounced themselves. This was the repetition of the French Revolution's reign of terror on a large scale. Nowadays in South Korea we have ever still the same atmosphere. For selfish reasons, last year's presidential election campaign became an existential battle. If there was a battle like that everywhere, in the worst case the country's social structure could be destroyed. For our nation, a new age would arise. We have to come to a turning point where we are able to end the history of our territorial division. North Korea seems to have come to reason, its new leader presents himself as responsibly thinking statesman. This euphoria was freshly nourished over the next months: The Hyundai company and North Korea will continue the Kumgang Mountains and the construction of a previously agreed-upon industrialcomplex with exportation area at Gaesong, near the northern boundary of the DMZ. Compromise through dialogue can contribute to a new peace with both countries in a safer shape than before. New age needs new thoughts.
