나라사랑교육을 통한 호국정신 함양

국문 초록

대한민국은 놀라운 경제발전의 바탕 위에 정치적 민주화를 성취한 성공한 국가이지만, 사회 내적으로 계층 간, 세대 간, 지역 간 갈등과 분열이심각한 수준에 달했다. 문제는 이 같은 현상이 공동체의식을 약화시키며, 국가안보에 필수적인 국민통합을 크게 저해하고 있다는 점이다. 그럼에도불구하고, 통합기능을 가진 정치는 제 기능을 발휘하는 데 한계를 노정하고 있다. 두말할 필요 없이, 한 국가의 건강성은 국민통합의 정도와 밀접한 상관관계가 있다. 그렇다면, 우리는 국민통합의 한계를 어떻게 극복할수 있는 것인가? 그것은 나라사랑과 나라를 위해 희생하겠다는 의지를 뜻하는 애국심을 함양하는 일이다. 애국심은 국가정체성을 강화하는 중요한기제로서 국민통합에 큰 영향을 미치기 때문이다. 본 논문은, 우리의 내적안보의 어려움을 염두에 두고, 먼저 나라사랑교육의 중요성과 그 핵심 내용인 호국정신 함양을 강조하고 있다. 나아가 이 논문은 나아가 오늘날호국정신으로서의 체제수호정신의 내용, 즉 자유민주주의체제 유지에 필수적인 헌법적 가치, 우리 국가안보에 필수적인 한미동맹관, 자유민주적질서에 입각한 확고한 평화통일관 등에 대하여 논하고 있다.

영문 초록

The Republic of Korea is a successful country, achieved remarkable economic development and political democratization, but inter-class, inter-generational and inter-regional conflicts of korean society have reached a serious level. The problem is that this phenomenon weakens the sense of community, and hinders greatly the national unity, an indispensable requirement for protecting national security. Nevertheless, politics has lost significantly the function of national unity. Needless to say, a country's health has a close correlation with the degree of national unity. Then, how we can overcome the limits of national unity? It is to cultivate patriotism(love of country) that means love of country and willingness to sacrifice for it. Because patriotism, an important mechanism to strengthen national identity, has a big influence on national unity. Considering the difficulty of our internal security, this paper emphasizes, first, importance of the education of patriotism and, one of its core contents, cultivation of the spirit of defending country. Furthermore, it describes contents of the spirit of depending liberal democracy system, which are composed of constitutional values essential to maintain the system, perspective on the R.O.K.-U.S. alliance necessary to our national security, and perspective on the peaceful reunification of the two Koreas, based on the liberal democracy order.
