박근혜 정부의 통일담론과 통일교육 활성화 방향

국문 초록

박근혜 대통령은 2014년 신년 기자회견에서 “저는 한마디로 통일은대박이다 이렇게 생각을 합니다. … 저는 한반도의 통일은 우리 경제가실제로 대도약할 수 있는 기회라고 생각합니다.”라고 말했다. 이 글의목적은 박근혜 대통령이 제기한 통일담론, 즉 ‘통일대박론’과 통일교육의 활성화를 위한 방향을 모색하는 것이다. 이러한 목적을 위해 이 글은 기존의 통일담론들을 검토하고, 그 활성화의 조건들과 향후 추진되어야 할 통일교육의 방향을 모색했다. 결론적으로 이 글의 핵심은 다음과 같다. 통일대박의 구현을 위한 가장 우선 적인 문제는 통일비용을둘러싼 국민적 논란을 해소하고 통일 필요성에 대한 국민적 공감대를확산하는 것이다. 그리고 앞으로 통일대박을 향한 로드맵을 구축해 나가는 것이 중요한 과제이다.

영문 초록

At the New Year’s Press Conference on January 6, 2014, President Park Geun-hye said “I believe that unification is a bonanza.... I believe that unification represents an enormous opportunity for the Korean economy to take a new leap forward.” The purpose of this paper is to explore the direction of activation of ‘Unification Bonanza Discourse’, that is President Park’s unification discourse and unification education. For this purpose, this paper was reviewed existing unification discourses and explored the conditions that it can be activated and the direction of unification education to be done in the future. Consequently, the focus of this article is as follows. The primary challenge for the implementation of ‘unification bonanza’ is to resolve the controversy surrounding the cost of unification, and it is imperative to spread the national consensus on the need for the unification of Korean peninsula. And it is an important task of the Park government to establish a roadmap towards a unification bonanza.
