대학생의 통일과 북한 인식에 관한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 부산지역 내 대학교에 다니는 대학생 253명을 대상으로통일과 북한 인식에 관해 분석했다. 첫째, 대학생들의 남북통일에 있어기존연구와는 달리 통일에 대한 관심은 81.7%로 매우 높았다. 그리고남북통일은 되면 좋지만 무리하게 할 필요성은 없으며, 남북통일은 분단으로 인한 경제적 손실을 줄이는 효과가 있다고 생각했다. 둘째, 북한에 대해서는 ‘경계대상’ 그리고 ‘적대대상’으로 인식하는 경향이 높았다. 특히 남학생은 북한을 ‘적대대상’ 또는 ‘경계대상’으로 인식한 반면여학생은 ‘지원대상’으로 생각하고 있었으며, 남학생은 북핵에 대해 여학생보다 더 위협적으로 인식했다. 셋째, 북한에 대한 대북지원 및 대북경제투자에 있어서는 ‘조금 줄여야 한다’는 응답이 주를 이루었고, 남학생이 여학생보다 대북지원을 줄이거나 중단해야 한다는 응답이 높게나타났다. 넷째, 통일 시기에 있어서는 ‘30년 이상’ 또는 ‘불가능하다’라는 응답이 많았다. 그리고 남북통일 후 우려되는 점으로는 ‘소득 양극화로 인한 빈부격차’를 꼽았다. 이러한 대학생의 통일에 대한 부정적 인식극복을 위해 통일은 지역발전과 국가경쟁력에 긍정적인 역할을 한다는인식을 바탕으로 한 통일교육이 절실하다.

영문 초록

This study analyzed 253 college students attending universities in Busan on the unification and North Korea’s recognition. First, university students' interest in unification was very high(81.7%), unlike previous studies. and the unification of the two Koreas is good, but there is no need to force them, and they think that the unification of the two Koreas has the effect of reducing the economic loss caused by the division. Second, Students tend to perceive North Korea as a ’boundary target' and an 'enemy target.' In particular, male students perceived North Korea as a "hostile target" or "boundary target" rather than a female student, and considered the North Korean nuclear issue as a threat. Third, In response to North Korea's support for North Korea and economic investment in North Korea, respondents said that they should "cut down a little," and boys should reduce or stop supporting North Korea more than girls. Fourth, in the period of unification, there were more than '30 years' or 'impossible'. And the point of concern after the unification of North and South Korea is the gap between rich and poor due to income polarization. In order to overcome the negative perception of unification of university students, unification education is based on the recognition that unification plays a positive role in regional development and national competitiveness
