청각장애인의 청각언어재활 경험에 관한 질적연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 청각장애인 당사자가 인식하는 재활의 경험과 주요 주제를 발견하고 그것이 개인과 타자, 일상생활에서 나타나는 경험의 의미를 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 청각장애인 12명을 대상으로 포커스그룹인터뷰를 하였으며, 주제분석을 통해 청각언어재활 과정에서 나타나는 경험을 심층적으로 분석하였다. 분석 결과 5개의 상위주제, 11개의 하위주제, 28개의 개념이 도출되었다. 주제 묶음결과 타인의 결정으로 재활을 시작함, 보조기기로 청각장애를 마주함, 재활이라는 어두운 터널을 걸어감, 세상과 소통하기 위한 나만의 방식을 선택함, 재활의 수용과 대처에 유연해짐이라는 5개의 주제가 도출되었으며 최종적으로 청각장애인 당사자가 인식하는 청각언어재활 경험은 ‘타율적으로 시작된 재활과정을 거치며 장애를 마주하게 되고, 자신만의 방식으로 재활을 수용하고 대처할 줄 아는자율적 의지를 갖게 됨’으로 나타났다. 이를 토대로 청각장애인과 그 가족을 위한 재활방식과 대안에관한 시사점을 도출하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to determine the experiences and main themes of rehabilitation recognized by deaf and hard-of-hearing people and analyzed the meaning of the experiences that appear in individuals, others, and daily life. Focus Group Interview were conducted with 12 participants (6 adolescences, and 6 adults). Paying attention to within-group variation, this study focused analyzing the aural rehabilitation process. 5 themes, 11 sub-themes, and 28 concepts were derived using thematic analysis. As a result of the theme group, five themes were derived: “Started rehabilitation with other’s decision,” “Facing deaf and hard-of-hearing with assistive devices,” “Walking through a dark tunnel called rehabilitation,” “Choose my own way to communicate with the world,” and “Be flexible in accepting and coping with rehabilitation,” and finally, the aural rehabilitation experience recognized by the deaf and hard-of-hearing parties was found to be “To face disability through involuntary rehabilitation process and to have voluntary will to accept and cope with rehabilitation in their own way.” Based on this, implications for rehabilitation methods and alternatives for the deaf and hard-of-hearing people and their families were derived.
