농인 수어통역센터장의 직무 경험에 관한 현상학적 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 사회복지시설인 수어통역센터의 농인 센터장이 직무를 수행하는 과정의 경험을 탐색하고 그 경험의 본질을 파악하는 데 목적이 있다. 비상근 시설장에서 유급 상근 시설장으로 전환되는시점에서 사회적 위치와 역할을 스스로 인식하고 본인의 직무를 수행하는 경험을 확인하고자 현상학적 질적 연구방법을 사용했다. 연구참여자는 수어를 제1 언어로 사용하고 있으며 수어통역센터에서오랫동안 근무한 경험이 있는 4명의 센터장을 의도적 표집을 하고 심층 면담을 통해서 연구가 수행되었다. 자료 분석결과 이들의 직무 경험에 대한 299개의 의미 단위 중에서 중복 또는 맥락에서 벗어난의미 단위들을 제외한 33개의 의미 단위를 통해 14개의 드러난 주제와 4개의 본질적 주제를 도출하였다. 본질적 주제는 ‘농인의 삶에서 시작되다’, ‘센터장의 직무에 최선을 다함’, ‘쉽지 않은 길’, ‘희망을가지다’로 나타났다. 본 연구는 농인 수어통역센터장이 자신의 직책에서 느끼는 심리·사회적 어려움과 직무수행 경험에 대한 본질적 의미를 밝혔다는 점에 의의가 있으며, 수어통역센터의 발전과 농인사회 전체의 복지증진을 기대할 수 있다

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to explore the experiences of the process of performing duties by the Deaf director of the Center at the Sign Language Interpretation Center and to understand the nature of the experience. A phenomenological qualitative research method was used to recognize the social position and role at the time of transition from part-time to paid full-time center director and to confirm the experience of performing one's duties. The study participants used sign language, and the study was conducted through in-depth interviews with intentional sampling of four center directors who had long worked at the center. As a result of data analysis, 14 revealed topics and 4 essential topics were derived through 33 semantic units excluding overlapping or out of context out of 299 semantic units for their job experience. The essential themes were ‘starting with the life of the deaf’, ‘doing my best in the job of the center director’, ‘not an easy path’, and ‘having hope’. This study is meaningful in that the Deaf director of the Center revealed the essential meaning of the psychological and social difficulties and job performance experience felt in his/her position, and can be expected to develop the sign language interpretation center and improve the welfare of the entire Deaf society.
