국문 초록

다니엘서의 칠십인역 역본에는 마소라 본문 안에 포함되지 않은 세 개의 부록이 등장한다. 이 글의 목적은 이 부록들 중에 ‘아자리야의 기도’를 번역 및 이해하고, 이 기도의 목적이 무엇인지 밝히는 데 있다. 공동번역 개정판을 통해 Th-단의 우리말 번역이 소개되었지만, OG-단의 우리말 번역은 여전히 필요해 보인다. 또한, 헬레니즘 시대에 이 기도의 역사적 배경을 살펴보는 것 이 글의 목적 중 하나이기에, Th-단 보다는 저작 연대가 더 확실한 OG-단의 ‘아자리야의 기도’를 살펴보고자 한다. 먼저 치글러가 편집한 다니엘 칠십인역 편집본을 토대 ‘아자리야의 기도’ 의 원-칠십인역(OG-단)을 우리말로 번역하고 주해할 것이다. 이 기도는 다니엘서 뿐만 아니라 구약성서의 다른 본문 안에 있는 표현들을 많이 차용하고 있기 때문에, 기도에 나타난 여러 표현들을 다니엘 3장 본문 안에서만 분석하는 것이 아니라 상호관계성(intertextuality)을 나타내는 다니엘서와 구약의 다른 본문을 통하여 이 기도를 주해하고, 문학적 특징을 살펴보고자 한다. 본문의 이해를 통해 이 기도는 통회하는 마음과 겸손한 심령의 기도를 희생 제사 대신 하나님께 올려드리고 그 기도를 받아주시길 청원하는 내용임을 밝힐 것이다. 즉 예배 양식에 있어서 희생 제사와 기도(희생 제사 없는)가 긴장 관계를 이루고 있는데, 이 관계를이 기도 안의 다니엘의 세 친구들의 에토스를 통해 어떻게 해소하고 있는지 고찰할 것이다. 그리고 이 기도의 문학적 이해를 넘어서서, 기원전 2세기경 헬레니즘 시대의 예루살렘, 쿰란, 디아스포라 유대인 공동체 가운데 희생 제사를 기도로 대체할만한 역사적 상황들이 존재했음을 밝히고, 이 기도가 이러한 과도기적 시점을 드러냄에 주목할 것이다. 이러한 배경을 토대로 ‘아자리야의 기도’의 저자는 다니엘의 세 친구들의 기도를 통하여 기원전 2세기경 유대인들에 진정한 예배자의 에토스는 통회하는 마음과 겸손한 심령을 갖춘 자이며, 정의와 사랑을 이웃에게 행하는 자라는 메시지를 전달하는 데 목적이 있음을 논하고자 한다. 마지막으로 현재의 한국 교회와 그리스도인들에게 던지는 메시지를 생각해 보고자 한다

영문 초록

The Septuagint version of the book of Daniel contains three appendices not found in the Masoretic text: ‘The Prayer of Azariah and The Song of the Three Young Men’, ‘Susanna’, and ‘Bell and the Dragon’. This article will focus on ‘the prayer of Azariah’ among these appendices. While, in the field of Korean Old Testament studies, the theme ‘prayer’ in the biblical texts has been continued, there seems to be a lack of research on prayer texts in the Apocrypha other than in the Old Testament. In addition, there is no Korean translation of the Old Greek version of ‘the prayer of Azariah’. In this circumstance, firstly, I will translate the Old Greek version of ‘the prayer of Azariah’ into Korean and comment on it. Because the prayer has an intertextual relationship with other texts of the Old Testament, I will examine the literary features of the prayer within Daniel 3, the book of Daniel, and other biblical texts. A distinct feature contained in this prayer is a petition that Azariah makes to God to receive the prayer of a contrite heart and humble spirit in lieu of sacrifice. This represents a tension between the practices of sacrifice and prayer (without sacrifice). I will examine how to resolve this tension by examining the relationship between Daniel’s three friends in this prayer. Furthermore, I will investigate how this literary aspect can be understood through the actual Jewish life in the Hellenistic period. In doing so, I will lay out the specific situations in which sacrifices could be replaced with prayer in the life of Jerusalem, Qumran, and the Diaspora Jewish communities, and present the case that this prayer reveals a transitional time which saw sacrifice replaced with prayer. In this process, I will argue that the purpose of this prayer is to convey a message about the true ethos of God’s covenantal people to the Jews in the Hellenistic period.
