해외 단기 의료봉사활동이 간호대학생의 공감능력, 셀프리더십, 영적안녕, 문화적 역량에 미치는 효과

국문 초록

본 연구는 해외 단기 의료봉사활동이 간호대학생의 공감능력, 셀프리더십, 영적안녕, 문화적 역량에 미치는 효과를 파악하기 위한 목적으로 시도되었다. 연구대상자는 해외 단기 의료봉사활동 프로그램에 참여한 지방소재 4개 대학교의 간호학과 학생들 중에서, 연구 참여동의서에 서면으로 동의한 학생을 대상으로 사전조사와 사후조사를 시행하였으며, 최종 연구대상자는 34명이었다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS WIN 21.0 프로그램을 이용하여 분석하였다. 도구의 신뢰도는 Cronbach's α 값을 구하였다. 대상자의 일반적 특성에 대해서는 실수와 백분율을 구하였고, 대상자의 공감능력, 셀프리더십, 영적안녕, 문화적 역량은 평균과 표준편차를 구하였다. 대상자의 해외 단기 의료봉사활동 사전조사 점수에 대해 Shapiro-Wilk test를 이용하여 정규성을 검토한 후 정규성을 충족하여 사전·사후점수 차이는 Paired t-test로 분석하였다. 대상자의 해외 단기 의료봉사활동 후 공감능력, 셀프리더십, 영적안녕, 문화적 역량의 상관관계는 Pearson's correlation coefficient로 분석하였다. 프로그램 참여 후 연구대상자의 셀프리더십은 사전보다는 사후점수가 높았으나 통계적으로 유의하지 않았으며, 공감능력과 영적안녕, 그리고 문화적 역량은 유의한 차이가 있었다. 또 각 변수들은 서로 유의한 양의 상관관계를 보이는 것으로 나타냈다. 본 연구는 간호대학생을 대상으로 기존의 봉사활동에 전공영역을 포함했고, 봉사의 장소를 국내에서 해외로 확대하여 학생들의 글로벌 역량강화를 목표로 개발된 프로그램이라는 점에서 장차 간호사에게 필수역량인 대상자 공감능력과 셀프리더십, 영적안녕, 문화적 역량의 향상에 영향을 미쳤음을 확인할 수가 있었다. 그러나 본 연구에 참여한 대상자의 다수는 학업성적이 우수하고 종교의 중요성을 인식하고 있으며, 삶의 만족도가 높아 대상자의 일반적 특성이 치중되어 본 연구결과가 해외 의료봉사프로그램의 순수한 효과로 보기에는 무리가 있다. 또한 대조군 없이 단일대상만으로 이루어졌기 때문에. 본 연구결과를 일반화하는데 신중해야 한다. 추후연구에서는 프로그램의 효과를 좀 더 명확히 확인하기 위한 대조군 설정과 연구대상자의 확대, 통제된 실험설계를 통해 그 효과를 검증하는 연구를 제언한다.

영문 초록

This study was attempted to understand the effect of overseas short-term medical volunteer activities on the empathy ability, self-leadership, spiritual well-being, and cultural competence of nursing students. Among the nursing students from four local universities who participated in the overseas short-term medical volunteer program, a preliminary survey and a follow-up survey were conducted on students who agreed to the research participation agreement in writing, and the final study subjects were 34. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS WIN 21.0 program. The reliability of the tool was calculated with the Cronbach's α value. For the general characteristics of the subject, frequency and percentages were obtained, and the subject's empathy ability, self-leadership, spiritual well-being, and cultural competencies were obtained by means and standard deviation. After reviewing the normality of the subjects' preliminary survey scores for overseas short-term medical volunteer activities using Shapiro-Wilk test, the normality was satisfied, and the difference in pre- and post-score was analyzed as a paired t-test. The correlation between the subject's empathy ability, self-leadership, spiritual well-being, and cultural competency after short-term overseas medical volunteer activities was analyzed as Pearson's correlation coefficient. After participating in the program, the self-leadership of the study subjects had higher post-scores than the dictionary, but was not statistically significant, and there were significant differences in empathy, spiritual well-being, and cultural competencies. In addition, each variable showed a significant positive correlation with each other. This study included major areas in existing volunteer activities for nursing college students and was developed to strengthen students' global capabilities by expanding the place of volunteer work from Korea to abroad, which had an effect on the improvement of subject empathy, self-leadership, and cultural capabilities. However, many of the subjects who participated in this study recognized the importance of religion, and high life satisfaction, so it is difficult to see the results of this study as the pure effect of overseas medical service programs. Also because it was made up of a single object without a control group. You should be careful in generalizing the results of this study. In future studies, a study is suggested to verify the effectiveness of the program through the setting of a control group to more clearly confirm the effectiveness of the program, the expansion of the study subjects, and controlled experimental design.
