국문 초록

본고는 국내 유일의 파스파문자 자료인 <이달한 문서>의 이본을 대조하여 계통 관계를 밝히고, 선행연구에서 간과한 파스파문자의 자형 차이에 주목하여, Coblin (2007)의 연구에 의거한 새로운 전자(transliteration)를 제안하였다. 1966년에 <이달한 문서>가 대중에 공개된 이후, 모든 연구는 이 자료만을 대상으로 이루어져 왔는데, 본고에서는 이미 1919년과 1958년에 이 자료의 저본이 되는 다른 판본이 간행되었음을 밝히고, 그들이 순차적으로 모각되었다는 증거를 제시했다. 한편 선행연구에서는 <이달한 문서>에서 사용된 ꡚ와ꡮ, 그리고 ꡜ와 ꡯ를 구별하지 않고 각각 š와 h로 전자하였는데, 본고에서는 이 문서가 한어를 파스파문자로 전사(transcription)한 것임에 주목하여 zh(ꡚ)와 sh(ꡮ), 그리고 h(ꡜ)와 H(ꡯ)로 구별하여 전자해야 함을 주장하였다.

영문 초록

This study compares different editions of Li-ta-han document, the only existing document of the ‘Phags-pa script in Korea, to discover their relative chronology and to suggest a new transliteration based on Coblin (2007) by focusing on the difference in the letter shapes which had been unnoticed in previous studies. All previous studies on Li-ta-han document had dealt with a single edition of the document which was introduced to the public in 1966. This study clarifies that different woodblock-printed books of the document had been published in 1919 and 1958, and shows with evidence that the three different editions including the previously known edition were serially replicated. While previous studies have not distinguished ꡚ from ꡮ and ꡜ from ꡯ to transliterate ꡚ / ꡮ and ꡜ / ꡯ as š and h respectively, this study proposes the letters must be distinguished as zh (ꡚ), sh (ꡮ), h (ꡜ) and H (ꡯ), emphasizing that the document is a transcription of Chinese, not Mongolian, into the ‘Phags-pa script.
