COVID-19로 심화된 교육격차 해소 방안

국문 초록

본 연구는 COVID-19 팬데믹의 장기화로 학습격차 및 발달 격차라는 사회적 위기를 해소하기 위한 방안으로서 사회복지적 측면에서 비대면 멘토링 프로그램을 제안하였다. 연구참여자는 한국사회복지협의회가 관리하는 기관의 멘토링 프로그램을 이용하는 멘티를 대상으로 편의 표집하였다. 조사는 2021년 6월 22일부터 8월 30일까지 이메일을 통해 총 300통의 설문지를 발송하였고, 수거된 설문지 중 불성실하게 응답했거나 무응답이 많은 설문지, 분석 시 이상값을 보이는 설문지를 제외한 105개를 최종 분석에 활용하였다. 분석 결과 비대면 멘토링 프로그램을 통해 학습격차 해소 및 정서 충족이 가능한 것으로 나타났으며 무엇보다 프로그램에 대한 만족도가 매우 높은 것으로 조사되었다. 학교는 공공기관으로 모두가 평등한 상태에서 배움을 경험하도록 하기 위한 교육의 공공성을 주요 책무로 두고 있으나 공교육이 사회 인프라의 일부라는 점을 감안할 때 공교육을 비롯한 전통적 교육 구조에서는 급격한 변화에 빠르게 대응하기 어렵다는 한계를 지닌다. 이에 본 연구에서 효과가 검증된 비대면 멘토링 프로그램의 다양화를 통해 공공재를 보완하고 교육 평등이 구체화 될 수 있기를 기대한다.

영문 초록

This study is to review measures to resolve the social crisis of so-called learning gap and development gap caused by the prolonged COVID-19. The non-untact mentoring program is suggested as a way to respond to the crisis in terms of social welfare. The author collected basic data and analyzed the contents to structuralize the research theme. For the empirical survey, 300 questionnaires were sent via email from June 22 to August 30 last year. And 105 mentees were selected for final analysis, excluding insincere responses, non-responsive questionnaires and questionnaires with extraordinary values. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the learning gap could be narrowed and participants were emotionally satisfied with the mentoring program. In addition, the level of satisfaction of the education program is substantially high. Everyone should be taught in an equal manner and schools are a part of public institution. Given public-ness of education, public education needs to be a part of the social infrastructure. In the traditional education framework including public education, it is difficult to respond rapidly to huge environmental changes. In this sense, it is expected that public education can be supplemented and educational equality can be embodied by diversifying the non-untact mentoring program that has been turned out effective in this study.
