국문 초록

본 연구는 청각처리장애의 대표적 두 모델인 Buffalo 모델(Katz, 1992)과 Bellis/Ferre 모델(Bellis, & Ferre, 1999)의 분류와 관련된 문헌들을 조사하여 분석하고 청각처리장애의 분류별 특성을 비교하였다. Buffalo 모델은 해독(Decoding:DEC), 내성쇠퇴기억(Tolerance-fading memory: TFM), 통합(Integration: INT), 조직(Organization: ORG) 4가지 유형으로 분류되었고, Bellis/Ferre 모델은 일차 하위 유형과 이차 하위 유형으로 나누어 일차 하위 유형에서 청각해독 결함(Auditory decoding deficit), 운율 결함(Prosodic deficit), 통합 결함(Integration deficit), 이차하위 유형에서 연합 결함(Associative deficit), 출력조직 결함(Output-organization deficit) 5가지 유형으로 분류되었다. 두 모델의 유사점은 첫째, 두 모델이 모든 유형은 아니지만 대부분이 유사한 유형의 명칭을 사용하면서 일부 특성을 공유하였다. 둘째, 두 모델이 신경해부학적 대뇌피질 영역의 기능 이상에 따라 유형별 특징을 설명하였다. 셋째, 두 모델의 특성 측면에서 내성쇠퇴기억 유형, 청각해독 유형, 통합 결함 유형, 출력조직 결함 유형 모두 소음에서 말소리를 이해하기 어려움을 설명하였다. 두 모델의 차이점은 많지만 대표적인 차이점으로는 일부 유형들의 신경해부학적 손상 영역과 특징이 달랐다.

영문 초록

This study analyzed the previous research about the classification of Buffalo model(Katz, 1992) and Bellis/Ferre model(Bellis, & Ferre, 1999) and compared the classification characteristics in these two representative auditory processing disorder models. The Buffalo model is composed of four categories: Decoding, Tolerance-fading memory, Integration, and Organization, and Bellis/Ferre model five categories: three primary subtypes(Auditory decoding deficit, Prosodic deficit, and Integration deficit) and two secondary subtypes(Associative deficit and Output-organization deficit). Similarities and differences between the two models are as follows. First, the two models have same words and characteristics in the name of most categories. Second, the categories of two models are based on dysfunction of neuroanatomical cortical areas. Third, Tolerance-fading memory, Auditory decoding deficit, Integration deficit, and Output-organization deficit explain difficulties in the understanding under noise environment. Last, major differences between the two models are different dysfunction of neuroanatomical cortical areas and characteristics in the same name of categories used in the two models.
