금융취약계층의 재기 과정에 관한 질적연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 보통의 사람들이 금융취약계층에 이른 후 그 상황에서 벗어나 게 되는 과정을 심층적으로 탐색함으로써 금융취약계층의 재기 과정을 밝히 는 데에 목적이 있다. 자료수집을 위해 공·사적 채무조정을 신청한 9명을 대 상으로 심층면접을 실시하였으며, Strauss와 Corbin의 근거이론분석방법에 따 라 분석한 결과를 근거이론 모형으로 제시하였다. 개방코딩에서 149개 개념, 26개 하위범주, 11개 상위범주를 도출하였으며 이를 토대로 축코딩을 실시 한 결과 중심현상은 ‘빚에 이끌린 삶’으로 나타났다. 맥락적 조건은 ‘불안정 한 일자리와 질병’, ‘낮은 소득과 생활고’였으며, 작용·상호작용전략은 ‘공적 지원의 활용’과 ‘스스로 재기하려 애씀’이었다. 중재적 조건은 ‘책임감과 신 세 갚으려는 마음’, ‘도움 받을 용기’, ‘건강상태와 나이’로 나타났다. 금융취 약계층의 재기 과정을 설명하는 핵심범주는 ‘빚에 이끌린 삶에서 헤어나기’ 였다. 금융취약계층의 재기 과정은 추락·고립 단계, 발버둥 단계, 불안한 생 존 단계로 분석되었다. 분석결과를 토대로 금융취약계층의 재기와 일상의 회복 지원을 위한 사회복지적 대응방안을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

This study examined the recovery process of the financially vulnerable populations through in-depth research into them. The data were collected through in-depth interviews with 9 applicants for public or private debt adjustment, and were analysed with the grounded theory method of Strauss and Corbin. In open coding, 149 concepts, 26 subcategories, and 11 categories were developed and in axial coding, the central phenomenon was ‘life drawn by debt’. Contextual conditions were ‘unstable jobs and diseases’ and ‘low income and hardships of life’, while actions and interactions strategies were ‘utilizing public support’ and ‘attempting to recovery on their own.’ Intervening conditions were ‘responsibility and willingness to repay kindness’, ‘courage to get help’, and ‘health status and age.’ The core category explaining the recovery process of the financially vulnerable populations were ‘getting out of debt-driven life.’ The recovery process of the financially vulnerable populations were identified as a stage of falling and isolation, a stage of struggling, and a stage of unstable survival. Based on these findings, this paper suggests social welfare countermeasures for the financially vulnerable populations.
