국문 초록

연구목적: 이 연구는 발달장애 특수학교에서 근무하는 시각장애 교사들의 교직에서의 경험을 이해하고 그 의미를 탐색하여 시각장애 교사들이 교직에 겪는 어려움의 근본적인 문제를 알아보는데 목적이 있다. 연구방법: 발달장애 특수학교에서 근무하는 시각장애 교사 4명을 대상으로 심층면담하고 그 내용을 분석하였다. 연구결과: 연구 참여자들은 첫 발령 전 발달장애 학생들과의 경험의 부족으로 인해 첫 발령 당시 ‘당황스러움’, ‘막막함’을 경험하였으며, 교과 지도나 학생지도, 생활지도를 할 때 학생들의 상태와 상황 등을 정확하게 파악하고 확인하지 못하는 상황을 답답해하고 미안함을 느끼고 있었다. 또한, 참여자들의 수업 준비 및 수업 진행에서 어려움은 장애 정도에 따라 차이를 보였으며, 담임교사 업무에서 배제하려고 하는 것에 대해 ‘씁쓸함’과 ‘서운함’을 내비쳤다. 마지막으로, 특수학교에서 근무하며 연구 참여자들은 예상치 못한 것들에 대한 걱정과 미래에 대한 기대, 사회통합을 위한 구체적인 교육과 방안, 특수교육을 통해 학생들이 조금이라도 나아질 거라는 희망과 체념, 교육의 본질에 대한 고뇌를 느끼고 있었으며 앞으로의 교직 생활을 위해 끊임없이 탐구하고 있음을 알 수 있었다.

영문 초록

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to understand the experience of blind teachers working at special schools for developmental disabilities in teaching and to explore their meaning to understand the fundamental problems of blind teachers in teaching. Method: In-depth interviews were conducted with four visually impaired teachers working at special schools for developmental disabilities and their contents were analyzed. Results: Participants in the study experienced embarrassed and impaired at the time of their first issuance due to lack of experience with students with developmental disabilities before their first issuance, and felt frustrated and sorry for the situation. In addition, the participants difficulties in preparing and conducting classes differed according to the degree of disability, and they expressed bitterness and disappointed about what they tried to exclude from the homeroom teacher s work. Finally, while working at a special school, it was found that the study participants felt anxiety about unexpected things, expectations for the future, specific education and plans for social integration, and the hope that students would get any better, resignation, and agony about the nature of education.
