국문 초록

미디어와 플랫폼, 그리고 기술 발달에 따라 대중문화(콘텐츠)가 나날이 발전하고 다양해지고 있음에도 불구하고, 그것에 대한 부정적 인식과 수용자를 소극적으로 한계짓는 인식은 여전하다. 스티브 존슨은 ‘멀티 스레딩’, ‘깜빡이는 화살표’, 그리고 ‘참여하기’라는 대중문화의 세 가지 현대 경향성을 통해 그것이 한계지어질 수 없고 끊임없이 이어지며 수용자는 능동적이고 적극적으로 변화하고 있다는 긍정적인 태도를 취하고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 현재 대표적 OTT인 넷플릭스의 시리즈 드라마인 <13 Reasons Why>, 미니 다큐멘터리 <13 Reasons Why:Beyond Reasons>, 그리고 수용자가 직접 제작한 팬덤 커뮤니티 사이트 <13 Reasons Why Wiki>의 사례를 통해 존슨의 대중문화에 대한 긍정적 태도가 어떻게 적용되고 있는지 각색을 통해 분석했다. 멀티 스레딩은 동명의 원작 소설을 시리즈 드라마 시즌 1에서 ‘말하기 양식’에서 ‘보여주기 양식’으로 충실하게 각색되었고, 시즌 2와 3은 시즌 1의 내러티브 확장으로 ‘보여주기 양식’에서 ‘보여주기 양식’으로 적용되었고, 깜빡이는 화살표는 미니 다큐멘터리 시즌 1~3을 통해 내러티브 푯말로 기능했으며, 참여하기는 Wiki로 구현되었다. 여전히 엔터테인먼트성이 강한 대중문화(콘텐츠)가 다수를 차지하고 있지만 사례와 같이 엔터테인먼트와 사회적 치유를 동시에 추구하는 대중문화콘텐츠의 경우는 존슨의 현대 경향성을 통한 대중문화의 긍정성을 인식할 수 있음을 밝혔다.

영문 초록

Despite the fact that popular culture (contents) is developing and diversifying day by day with the development of media, platforms, and technology, negative perceptions about it and perceptions that passively limit the audience remain. Steve Johnson takes a positive attitude that it cannot be limited, continues constantly, and audiences are actively and actively changing through the three modern tendencies of popular culture: Multi-Threading . Flashing Arrow , and Participating. Therefore, this study analyzed how Johnson s positive attitude toward popular culture is applied through examples of Netflix s series drama <13 Reasons Why>, mini-documentary <13 Reasons Why: Beyond Reasons>, and the fandom community site <13 Reasons Why Wiki>. Multi-threading faithfully adapted the original novel of the same name from Speaking Style to Show Style in the series drama season 1, Seasons 2 and 3 were applied from ‘Show Style to‘Show Style as a narrative extension of season 1, and Flashing Arrow functioned as a narrative signpost throughout the mini-documentary seasons 1-3, Participation is implemented as a Wiki. Popular culture (content), which is still strong in entertainment, occupies the majority, but in the case of popular cultural content pursuing entertainment and social healing at the same time as in the case, it was revealed that the positivity of popular culture through Johnson s modern tendency can be recognized.
