정전의 이면, 김수영의 경우

국문 초록

김수영은 비평과 창작 혹은 이론과 실천을 겸비한 한국 문학사의 상징적 존재이다. 그럼에도 불구하고 김수영 문학세계는 기본적 텍스트조차 제대로 복원되지 못한 실정에 놓여 있다. 대표적 예로 김수영이 발표했던 원래의 작품 형태나 출전 관련된 서지사항이 완전히 파악되지 못한 현실을 들 수 있다. 보다 조직적이고 체계적인 접근으로써 그 정전의 위상을 복원해야 할 시점이라 하겠다. 이 글은 김수영 문학의 온전한 구성을 바라며 몇 가지 미완의 사례를 예시하였다. 그의 시세계는 <김수영 전집>을 비롯하여 육필시고까지 비교적 체계적으로 정리된 경우에 해당된다. 하지만 상당수 원문은 아직도 발표 당시의 형태나 출전을 확인하지 못하고 있는 것이 사실이다. 번역물의 경우에는 사정이 더욱 심각하다. 김수영 문학세계와 번역이 맺는 관계는 매우 긴밀하기에 엄밀한 복원이 필요하다. 현재 상재되어 있는 <시인의 거점>과 같은 번역집에도 오자와 부정확한 정보가 산견되기에 세밀한 교열을 통한 보완 작업이 요청된다. 산문 역시 재구성 필요성을 지닌다. <김이석의 죽음을 슬퍼하며>, <제 정신을 갖고 사는 사람은 없는가>, <정실비평은 자신의 손해> 등을 통해 일부 측면에서 보완해야 할 점을 밝혔다. 김수영 월평들은 당대 문학장을 재구하고 일급 평론가로서의 면모를 논증하기 위한 주요 근거에 해당한다. <현대시의 진퇴>, <진도 없는 기성들>, <새로운 포멀리스트들> 등을 예시하며 부기되어야 할 자료를 추가해 보았다. 김수영이라는 텍스트는 복잡한 층위를 구성하고 있기에 개별 연구로는 서지사항조차 확정하기 어렵다. 김수영 문학은 학제를 넘어서는 집단적 공동 연구를 통해 온전히 재구성될 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

Kim Soo-young is a symbolic existence in the history of Korean literature that combines criticism and creation, or theory and practice. Nevertheless, even the basic texts of Kim Soo-young s literary world have not been properly restored. As a representative example, even the form of the original work published by Kim Soo-young or the information of the published magazine is not well understood. With a more organized and systematic approach, it is time to properly restore the status of the canon. This article hopes for the complete composition of Kim Soo-young s literature and exemplifies some incomplete cases. His poetry has not yet been established in the form or source of his poems at the time of publication. In the case of translations, the situation is even more serious. The relationship between Kim Soo-young s literature and translation is so close that a rigorous restoration is necessary. Incorrect letters and inaccurate information are also found in the currently produced translation works. Prose also needs to be reconstructed. Even just looking at some prose, it needs to be supplemented in various aspects. Kim Soo-young s monthly reviews are the main basis for reconstructing the literary field of the time and demonstrating the aspect of a top-notch critic. Some examples were exemplified and materials to be supported were added. The other side of the canon, such as Kim Soo-young s literature, consists of such a complex layer, so it is difficult to confirm even complete data through individual research. Kim Soo-young s literature needs to be completely reconstructed through collective joint research that goes beyond the academic realm.
