국문 초록

본 논문은 宋代繪畵 예술에서 宮廷繪畵에 文人的 사유방식이 습합되는 북송말 회화의 흐름을 徽宗의 회화후원에 대한 관점으로 살펴보고자 하였다. 그는 화원화가들에게 시정화의를 시험하여 기교에 의한 시각적 묘사보다는 화의를 그려낼 것을 요구하였다. 화가였던 휘종은 진정으로 당시 회화를 이해하고 있었고 기존 圖畫院에 대한 문제점과 그 개혁의 필요성도 인지하고 있었다. 화가로서의 휘종의 예술적 관심은 詩·書·畵를 직접 화면 위에 결합한 양식으로 성취되었다. 이러한 결합양식은 원체화에 문인적 요소를 적극적으로 도입한 결과로서 단순한 기능인을 넘어 창의성을 갖춘 화원화가를 양성하고자했던 그의 회화에 대한 관심사가 적용된 결과였다. 후원자로서 진정한 역할은 정책적 실현으로서의 畫學의 설치와 화학생의 선발 및 교육정책과 내용의 체계화에서 두드러진다. 더 나아가 회화 전문가로서 휘종은 황실의 정통성을 드러내는 강력하고도 새로운 시도로서 회화를 활용하였다. 지배자이자 화가로서의 휘종은 그가 종교적으로 숭배했던 도교를 후원한다는 시각으로 볼 때 통합적으로 이해가 가능하다. 그는 한 인간으로서 도교를 숭배했던 황제 화가였고 예술의 어떤 至境을 위해 끊임없이 훈도하는 후원자였다. 회화에 대한 휘종의 총체적 관심과 정책적 실현은 그의 삶의 시공에 스며든 도교 숭배가 그를 둘러싼 하나의 환경으로 작용했음을 보여준다.

영문 초록

This paper attempts to examine the flow of painting in Northern Song Dynasty in which literary thinking methods are combined in painting art from the point of view of the artistic patronage of Huizong. Through the test for imagination he asked the court painters to draw literary paintings rather than visual description by technique. This shows that Huizong, who was a painter, truly understood paintings, and was aware of the problems with the existing of the court(翰林圖畫院) and the need for its reform. Huizong s artistic interest as a painter was achieved by combining poetry, writing, and writing directly on the screen. This combination style was the result of actively introducing literary elements into the court painting, and it was the result of applying Huizong s interest in painting, who attempted to cultivate a creative painter beyond a skilled court painter. A true role as a sponsor stands out in the establishment of Painting School(畫學) as a policy realization, the selection of students, and the systematization of educational policies and contents. Furthermore, as a painting expert, Huizong used painting as a powerful and new attempt to reveal the legitimacy of the imperial family. Huizong as a ruler and painter can be understood integrally from the perspective of supporting Taoism, which he worshiped religiously. He was an emperor painter who worshipped Taoism as a human being and a supporter who constantly admonished for best art. Huizong s overall interests in painting and policy realization show that Taoism worship, which permeated his life s time and space, served as an environment surrounding him.
