국문 초록

본 연구는 2009 개정 교육과정이 적용된 2014학년도 대학수학능력시험부터 2019학년도까지 지속적으로 화학I을 응시하는 학생이 감소하는 요인을 이를 지도하는 화학교사의 시각에서 탐색해보았다. 이를 위해 1차로 27명의 화학교사를 대상으로 개방형 설문 조사를 실시하였다. 이후 이설문 조사의 키워드 분석을 중심으로 7명의 화학교사를 대상으로 심층 면담을 진행하였다. 연구결과, 첫째로 일부 문항은 교육과정의 범위를 다소 벗어났다. 이러한 교육과정을 벗어난 문항은 학생들이 추가로 학습 부담을 느끼게 만드는 요인이 되었다. 둘째로, 화학I 응시자들은 다른 과목에비해 시험시간에 부담감을 느끼고 있었다. 지나친 계산을 요구하는 문항과 IQ-test와 같은 시간잡는 문항이 이러한 문제를 가속 시켰다. 셋째로, 화학I을 다른 과목에 비해 최저등급을 받기 어려운 과목으로 인식하고 있었으며, 이러한 이유로 3~4등급의 학생들이 지속적으로 화학I에서 다른 과목으로 응시과목을 변경하고 있었다. 화학I의 응시자 감소에 대한 문제를 해결하기 위해서는 교육과정을 준수한 출제, 개념과 원리 중심의 문항 개발이 필요하다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors leading to the decrease in the number of students who took Chemistry I from the 2014 CSAT to the 2019 CSAT. To do this, an open questionnaire survey was first conducted with 27 chemistry teachers. Following this, in-depth interviews were conducted with seven Chemistry teachers focusing on keyword analysis derived from the questionnaire. The results of the study are as follows: first, some items were somewhat out of scope with the curriculum. These questions made students feel an additional learning burden. Second, examinees for the Chemistry I exam had more of a burden for time compared to other subjects. Items which were excessive included computational demands or those that were time-consuming, such as IQ-tests, and they accelerated this problem. Third, students thought that it was difficult to get a good grade in Chemistry I compared to other subjects. For this reason, students in their third of fourth year were constantly dropping Chemistry I and changing to other subjects. In order to solve the problem with the decrease of examinees for Chemistry I, it is necessary to develop solutions that address these issues and are based on the curriculum, chemical concepts, and principles.
