국문 초록

이 연구는 대학 등록금에 대한 장학금 지원의 효과를 학비 부담 경감, 학업성적 및 대학생활, 학업지속 및 몰입, 진학 및 취업의 측면에서 종합적으로 분석하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 특히, 그간의 장학금 효과 연구에서 전문대학 학생들에 대한 분석이 부족했던 점에 주목하여 학제 구분에 따른 장학금 지원의 효과를 분석한 점에 선행연구와의 차별성이 있다. 분석을 위해 한국고용정보원의 2019년 대졸자직업이동경로조사(Graduate Occupational Mobility Survey: GOMS) 자료를 활용하였다. 분석 결과는 첫째, 전체적인 효과성의 측면에서 등록금에 대한 지원은 학비 부담 경감, 학업성적 및 대학생활, 학업지속 및 몰입의 측면에서 긍정적인 효과가 있었다. 둘째, 학비 부담 경감, 학업성적, 대학 프로그램 참여도, 졸업유예 등에 있어서는 전문대학과 대학 모두에서 긍정적인 효과가 있었으나 대학에 대한 전반적인 만족도, 휴학횟수 및 학기 초과정도의 감소 등의 측면에서는 대학에서만 긍정적인 효과가 있었다. 끝으로, 학제 구분 내 특성에 따른 학자금 지원의 효과 차이를 분석한 결과, 대학의 경우 학자금 대출 규모의 감소 효과 크기가 수도권소재대학과 사립대학에서 비수도권소재대학이나 국공립대학 보다 컸고 학기 초과 정도에 있어서는 국공립대학이 사립대학에 비해 더 컸다. 반면, 전문대학의 경우에는 학자금 대출이용의 감소와 학업성적 향상에 주는 영향력이 비수도권소재대학 보다 수도권소재대학에서 유의하게 더 컸다. 따라서 학자금 필요 및 장학금 효과에 있어서 학제 구분에 따른 차이를 확인한 분석 결과를 반영하여 장학금 정책에 시사점을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to comprehensively analyze the effectiveness of scholarship support on tuition fees. In particular, there is a difference from previous studies in analyzing the effectiveness of scholarship support according to the institutional types. For analysis, the 2019 Graduate Occupational Mobility Survey (GOMS) was used. First of all, in terms of overall effectiveness, support for tuition has positive effects on reducing the burden of tuition, academic performance, continuing and immersing in academic studies. Second, there are positive effects on reducing the burden of tuition, academic performance, participation in university programs, and suspension of graduation across the types, but only with universities there exist the effects on overall satisfaction, reduced number of breaks and term excesses. Finally, the analysis of the difference in the effectiveness of student support according to the characteristics of institutions shows metropolitan and private universities have a larger reduction in student loans than non-metropolitan universities and public universities respectively. In the case of junior colleges, the influences on the reduction of student loan use and the improvement of academic performance are significantly greater in institutions based in the metropolitan area than in non-metropolitan institutions. Therefore, the implications on the scholarship policies are suggested based on the research results.
