국문 초록

1980년대 이전 개신교 영성연구에서는 영성을 중요한 용어로 인식하거나 그 정의를 다루는 글을 발견하기 쉽지 않다. 80년대 이전에는 주로 예배, 설교, 기도, 금식, 경건, 기독교적 삶, 성령, 신비주의, 수도원 운동 등 영성과 관련된 개별 주제에 관한 연구가 이루어졌다. 1980년대는 영성을 연구의 중심 용어로 사용하는 글들이 나타나는 시기이고 영성에 관해 정의하고 그 역사를 탐구하기 시작하는 때이다. 80년대는 영성에 관해 연구하는 학자와 목회자의 수가 늘어나고 논문, 서적, 기고문 등이 이전 시대와 비교해 증가한다. 본 논문은 1980년대 생산된 영성에 관한 책과 논문 및 다양한 글을 소개하고 연구해 그 특징과 의의를 논한다. 본 연구가 주장하는 1980년대 한국 개신교 영성연구의 특징은 영성에 대한 정의, 연구 주제와 범위의 확장, 그리고 한국적 영성에 관한 탐구이다.

영문 초록

Before the 1980s, Korean scholars and church ministers had not often used the term spirituality for their studies on the whole range of spiritual life and discipline of Korean Christians. Instead, they used terms like devotion, holiness, Christian life, mysticism and so on. During 1980s, Korean scholars begun to use spirituality as an umbrella term to understand and explain not only about Christian life, movement, discipline, and practices, but also about Christian culture and thoughts, 1980s is also a pivotal period for the Korean scholars and church ministers to begin wide and serious studies on spirituality. Many scholars and church ministers had been involved in the study of spirituality in various fields like Christian education, pastoral care and counseling, church administration, Korean feminist theology, and on. The three characteristics of the 1980s protestant studies on spirituality are using spirituality as a key term for theological studies, developing the interdisciplinary dimension of spirituality, and understanding Korean Spirituality through Korean history and the history of the Korean Church.
