공감에 기초한 타자 지향적 기독교교육에 관한 연구

국문 초록

현대 사회에서 사람들이 겪는 고통의 대부분은 타자를 인격적으로 대하지 않는 비공감적 행위에서 비롯된다. 인간에 대한 비인격적 태도는 상호돌봄의 관계를 배제함으로써 고통의 악순환을 재생산하는 요인이 된다. 다른 사람의 고통을 자신의 것으로 수용하려는 공감의 특징은 오늘날 기독교교육이 관심을 기울여야할 타자에 대한 환대를 함축한다. 이것은 몸, 마음, 영을 유기적으로 통합하며 창조세계를 하나의 거시공동체로 연결하려고 의도한다. 본 연구는 일상에 만연한 비공감적 행위에 저항하는 공감교육의 가능성에 대한 비판적 성찰을 수행한다. 공감은 하나님의 형상을 지닌 인간안에 내재된 기본능력이자 그리스도의 성육신적 사랑의 원리이다. 예수 그리스도의 사랑은 비인격적 행위에 저항하여 고통당하는 이웃을 환대의 대상으로 수용하는 사랑의 공동체를 추구한다. 공감의 관점에서 기독교교육은 필연적으로 타자 지향적이다. 기독교교육은 자기중심성에서 벗어나 다른 사람과 인격적 관계안에서 소통, 참여, 연대하려는 성향을 지니고 있기 때문이다. 결과적으로 본 논고는 공감에 대한 담론을 통해 기독교교육의 타자 지향성을 실현하기 위해 네 가지 교육형태를 제안한다. 공감에 기초한 교육은 첫째, 자아변형으로 나아가는 관계교육 둘째, 신앙공동체를 구성하는 소통교육 셋째, 상호조율을 창조하는 참여교육 넷째, 새로운 변화를 지향하는 연대교육으로 구성되어 있다.

영문 초록

Substantial portion of the pain people experience in modern society is due to impersonal attitude against others. The impersonal attitude against others yields reproduction of the vicious circle of pain suffering because it abandons the duty of mutual care as human beings. Because of this situation Today’s Christian education need to place a significant stress on the issue of hospitality toward others. This hospitality toward others calls for Christian education based on empathy which resonates with others’ pain as one’s own. Christian education based on empathy attempts to integrate spirit-mind-body together in an organic manner and make a coherent inter-connection of the created world as a macro-community. This study carries out a critical reflection on the possibility of empathic education which resists the unsympathetic actions of today’s society. Empathy is a factor of the fundamental abilities inherent in the image of God and the principle of the incarnate love of Christ. The love of Jesus Christ seeks a community of love that embraces the afflicted neighbor as those who deserve our welcome and hospitality in defiance of depersonalizing attitude. Seen from the perspective of empathy, Christian education need to be basically and inevitably other-oriented. This is so since Christian education should communicate, participate, and unite with others in mutual relationships and move away from self-centeredness. In result, through vigorous inquiry of empathy this study proposes four forms of Christian education such as followings: first, ‘relationship’ education which moves toward self-transformation, second, ‘communication’ education which constitutes faith community, third, ‘participation’ education which creates mutual coordination, and lastly, ‘solidarity’ education which seeks for change.
