국문 초록

이 연구는 학문공동체를 진단하는 요인들을 추출하여 한국기독교교육학회의 현황을 조사하고, 학문공동체성을 강화하기 위한 방안을 제시하고자 한 것이다. 한국기독교교육학회에는 다양한 학문세대와 실천현장, 전공분야가 존재한다. 따라서 참여자의 학회 활동기간과 실천현장, 전공분야에 따라 학회 활동에 대한 인식도와 참여도, 만족도가 어떻게 나타나는지를 조사하였다. 참여자는 총 70명(남 43명, 여 27명)으로 주로 신진학자들과 중진목회자들이 적극적으로 참여한 것으로 나타난다. 설문 회수율은 35.9%이며, 조사결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학회 활동 인식도(M=3.84, SD=.58)는 3-5년 간 학회 활동을 한 집단의 평균이 가장 낮았으며, 집단 간 평균의 차이도 유의하게 나타났다. 회원으로서의 정체성 및 소속감 또한 3-5년 간 활동한 집단과 석⋅박사과정 학생들의 평균이 가장 낮게 나타났다. 회원들은 ‘다양한 학문적 관점 및 연구 분야의 필요성’과 ‘학회 변화의 필요성’을 가장 중요하게 인식하였으며, ‘학자와 목회자가 연계하는 협력적 연구의 부재’를 가장 심각한 문제로 인식하였다. 둘째, 학회 활동 참여도의 평균(M=2.99, SD=.92)은 세 요인 중 가장 낮았으며, 선행연구 결과보다 더 낮아진 것으로 나타났다. 선행연구에 따르면, 회원들은 학회의 발전을 위해 적극적으로 참여할 자세가 되어 있다고 응답하였으나 실제 참여도의 평균은 감소하였다. 건강한 학문공동체로 발전하기 위해서는 무엇보다 학회에서 주관하는 활동에 대해 충분히 안내하고, 회원들의 참여를 활성화시킬 방안 모색이 필요하다. 셋째, 학회 활동 만족도(M=3.50, SD=.60)는 학회 운영 만족도, 학술대회 만족도, 학술도서 및 학술지 만족도로 세분하여 조사하였다. 하위요인마다 5-10년 간 활동한 집단과 초⋅중⋅고등학교에 속한 집단, 기독교교육 전공 집단의 평균이 가장 높게 나타난 반면, 3-5년 간 활동한 집단의 평균은 모든 요인에서 가장 낮게 나타났다. 한편, 학술도서 및 학술지 만족도에 대한 문항 중 ‘연구나 교육 시 학술도서 및 학술지 활용’의 평균이 가장 낮게 나타났다. 이는 기독교교육학의 학문적 정체성과 직결되는 문제이자 학문공동체성을 위협하는 요소가 될 수 있으므로 후속적인 성찰이 필요하다. 이 결과들을 토대로 균등한 참여 기회의 제공, 친밀한 관계 형성, 이론과 실천의 연계 강화, 다양한 학문적 논의의 장 마련, 삶에서 상호 연대감 증진에 대해 제언하였다.

영문 초록

The aim of this study is to diagnose the current state of the Korean Society for the Study of Christian Religious Education (KSCRE) and suggest ways to consolidate its identity as an academic community by extracting related factors. KSCRE is a synthesis of diverse academic generations, multitudinous practice fields, and varied academic disciplines. This study investigates the levels of recognition, participation, and satisfaction depending on the membership periods, practice fields, and academic majors of the participants. The total number of participants is 70, among which junior scholars and leading ministers responded most actively. The return rate was 35.9%, and the results are as follows. First, with regard to the level of recognition of KSCRE activity, it is shown that the participants with memberships of 3 to 5 years had the lowest average; there were significant differences among the different groups. Identity as a KSCRE member and belongingness were also lowest among the participants with memberships of 3-5 years and among those who were enrolled in master’s and doctoral programs. The participants considered “the need of diversified academic perspectives and research areas” and “the need to change KSCRE” as the most important issue and “the absence of cooperative research among scholars and ministers” as the most serious problem. Second, the average participation rate was the lowest among the three factors of recognition, participation, and satisfaction, and was even lower compared with the results of previous studies in which participants responded that they were willing to actively participate in KSCRE activities for the development of the academy. However, the mean of the participation rate decreased in practice, which requires further investigation from various aspects. To grow as a sound academic community, KSRCE needs to sufficiently announce their activities and events to their members and find ways to increase the member participation. Third, the level of satisfaction was subcategorized as satisfaction with organizational operations, conferences, and academic books and journals. For each subcategory, group with a participation background of 5 to 10 years, group covering primary and secondary schools, and group with majors in Christian Education showed the highest mean, whereas the mean for those with memberships of 3 to 5 years was the lowest. With regard to the satisfaction with academic books and journals, the mean utilization rate was lowest for research and/or education purposes. This is directly related to the academic identity of the study of Christian education, which possibly threatens the academic community, and thus a follow-up examination of this matter is needed. Based on the results, this study proposed measures to provide equal opportunities for participation, form close relationships, reinforce the connection between theory and practice, provide occasions for diverse academic discussions, and enhance mutual solidarity in life.
