국문 초록

이 글은 경상남도의 감정노동자 실태조사 결과를 바탕으로 공공부문과 민간부문 감정노동자들의 노동 현실을 파악하여 노동자로서의 권리향상을 위해 필요한 요인에 대해 고민해보고자 한다. 이를 위해 1,064 사례의 감정노동자 설문조사와 감정노동의 강도가 강하고 감정소진을 심각하게 겪고 있는 직종을 선정하여 공공부문 12명, 민간부문 4명, 민간위탁 2명에 대해 반구조화된 면접(semi-structured interview)을 실시하였다. 조사 결과, 민간부문 감정노동자는 공공부문에 비해 업무부담이 크고 권한은 적으며 조직의 업무지원과 보호체계도 미흡하였다. 공공부문 중에서는 행정·사회복지사 등 민원처리군에서 감정노동 강도가 매우 높았고 조직의 체계적인 지원이 없으며 성별 불평등을 많이 겪고 있는 것으로 조사되었다. 고객과 서비스 종사자, 소비자와 노동자의 지위 차별로 인한 감정노동자의 권리를 보장하기 위해서는 제도적 보완은 물론, 그들이 노동소외를 경험하지 않도록 지역사회의 실질적인 지원이 필요하다.

영문 초록

Based on the results of the survey of emotional labor in Gyeongnam province, this article aims to understand the realities of emotional labors in the public and private sectors. To this end, a survey of 1,064 cases of emotional labors and a semi-structured interview was conducted for 18 employees by selecting occupations with strong emotional labor intensity and severe emotional exhaustion. As a result, emotional labors in the private sector were more burdened with work, less authorities, and the organization’s support and protection system were insufficient. Among the public sector, the intensity of emotional labor of civil service workers such as administrative and social workers was very high, and there was no systematic support from the organization, and it was found that they suffered sexual discrimination. In order to guarantee the rights of emotional labors due to discrimination in the status of customers and service workers, consumers and workers, it is necessary to provide not only institutional supplementation but also practical and cultural support from the local community so that they do not experience labor alienation.
