Competition in the domestic textile and fashion (clothing) industry is becoming fiercer due to the entry of global SPA brands and the opening of’ the market. It is necessary to prepare strategic alternatives to secure competitiveness, such as enhancing productivity through innovation and creating high added value to respond to the shorter product life cycle and diverse consumer needs. Moreover, the domestic textile and fashion industry needs to reconsider strengthening the supply chain network through research to establish a cooperative network between companies regarding the supply chain. There is a limit in intensifying the competitiveness by specializing in a specific area or expanding the outsourcing of businesses in the supply chain. In contrast, the length between supply chains is long, and cooperation is crucial. Since the 2000s, studies intended to establish a model for coexistence and cooperation among supply chains for mutual growth and to prepare alternatives have been steadily conducted by academic circles and related institutions. However, the polarization and gap between large domestic companies and SMEs have not decreased. This study started from the need for establishing a model for coexistence and cooperation in which cooperation activities between supply chains can develop into a mutually beneficial relationship in a rapidly changing global environment and fierce competition by continuously enhancing the level of conditioning for coexistence and cooperation between supply chain companies in the domestic textile and fashion industries. Therefore, this study empirically analyzed how the attributes of partnerships, which emphasize collaboration throughout the supply chain management, affect the SCM performance in order to contribute to securing global competitiveness of the domestic textile and fashion industries. This study implied the following to enhance the SCM performance by strengthening the supply chain network.; First, intensifying relationship commitment is the most important so that partnerships can be sustained based on mutual trust. Second, it is necessary to make efforts and take actions to strengthen the collaborative relationship through a high level of trust and relationship commitment as the need for connection between companies has become even more highly emphasized with supplier competition being intensified and with the advancement of ICT-related technologies. Third, efforts to establish a model for coexistence and collaboration should be continued for companies to grow together by boosting collaborative relationships and strengthening network competitiveness between them.
