사립유치원 통합학급 교사들의 통합교육에 대한 경험

국문 초록

본 연구는 사립유치원 통합학급 교사들의 통합교육에 대한 경험을 이해하기 위하여, 사립유치원에서 통합학급을 담당하고 있는 유아교사 10명을 대상으로 면담을 통한 질적연구를 수행하였다. 면담 결과, 첫째, 유아교사들은 국·공립유치원에서의 장애유아 통합교육과 마찬가지로 사립유치원에서의 장애유아 통합교육 실시에 대한 당위성을 인정하고 있었다. 교수·학습계획서 작성 시에는 장애유아를 고려하는 것이 많이 부족하지만, 부담임 제도를 활용하여 장애유아가 학습활동에 참여하도록 다양한 노력을 수행하고 있다고 하였다. 둘째, 유아교사들의 장애유아 통합교육에 대한 부담감으로는, 장애유아를 지도하는데 있어서 교사로서의 자신감 부족, 과도한 학급인원에 따른 스트레스 존재, 과중한 업무와 장애유아 교육이라는 이중적 부담감을 가지고 있다고 하였다. 셋째, 사립유치원 교사들은 유아특수교사와의 협력의 필요성을 인정하고 있었지만, 사립유치원에서 유아특수교사를 채용하는 것이 용이하지 않다는 의견을 보였다. 넷째, 유아교사들은 보다 성공적인 통합교육이 이루어지기 위해서는, 장애유아를 위한 적절한 교재·교구의 지원, 유아교사 대상의 연수 또는 재교육, 특수교육관련 보조인력 확보를 통한 체계적인 장애유아의 지도를 언급하였다.

영문 초록

The study investigated the perception and experiences of early childhood teachers in private kindergartens, so the study interviewed 10 early childhood teachers and analyzed the interview data qualitatively. The results of the study follows. First, the early childhood teachers recognized the necessity of the inclusive education for young children with disabilities in private kindergartens. In practical, the teachers were using the vice-home room teacher systems to implement the inclusive education more effectively. Second, the early childhood teachers had burden regarding the inclusive education for young children with disabilities. The burden included low self-confidence to teach young children with disabilities, stress from excessive number of students in a class, and excessive workload. Third, the early childhood teachers recognized that they need to cooperate with special education teachers, but they noticed that it is not always easy to hire special education teachers in kindergartens. Finally, the early childhood teachers requested appropriate educational materials for young children with disabilities, training or education regarding special education for early childhood teachers for successful inclusion. In addition, the teachers thought that it is necessary to have assistants who are related to special education for systematic inclusive education.
