홍산문화(紅山文化)의 연구사 검토

국문 초록

홍산문화는 홍산후 유적으로 정의되었으며, 사과둔 유적과 함께 북방의 세석기문화로써 앙소문 화의 채색토기를 받아 들인 문화로 초기에 연구되었다. 하지만, 1980년대 동산취 유적과 우하량 유적이 발굴된 이후로는 의례중심으로 연구가 급변했 다. 동산취 유적은 제단이 있는 제사 유적이고, 우하량 유적은 무덤의 묘역을 구분하는 이른바 ‘적 석총’ 이 있는 무덤으로 채색토기와 옥기 등이 대량 출토된다. 동산취 유적과 우하량 유적 발견 당시 홍산문화의 연대는 5000~3000년 전으로 추정되었으나, 현재는 홍산문화의 취락과 무덤 유적 을 모두 포함시킨 결과 6500~5000년 전으로 정리되었다. 초창기에 비해서 홍산문화의 물질문화 특징과 연대는 크게 변화되었다고 볼 수 있다. 그러나 홍산문화는 절대연대를 그대로 적용할 경우 6000~4400년 전에 해당된다. 그 기간 중에 가장 늦은 5기(4700~4300년 전)에 우하량 유적 및 적석총이 있는 무덤 유적이 나타난다. 이전에 석관묘 유적이 있지만 우하량 유적의 복잡한 무덤구조와는 확연한 차이가 있다. 채색토기 및 압인 ‘之’자문토기의 기형이 다양화 되며, 굽은 동물형 옥기를 비롯한 다양한 옥기도 대다수 이 기간에 나타난다. 즉, 현재 알려진 홍산문화의 의례적 특징은 5000년 전 이후 홍산문화 5기에 집중되어 나타나며, 1~4기에서는 볼 수 없다. 북방의 세석기문화로 연구된 초기 연구와 문화적 성격이 크게 벌어졌는 데, 앞으로 이에 대한 다양한 고민이 필요하다

영문 초록

The Hongsan culture was defined as the Hongshanhou site, which were previously excavated from the Shaguotun ruins and were studied as a Northern prehistoric blade culture. However, since the discovery of the Dongshanzui ruins and Niuheliang ruins, the research has been rapidly focused on rituals, but simply explaining that Hongshan s research has deepened is not enough to explain the distinction between the two sites. Dongshanzui site are altar ruins and Niuheliang ruins are tombs with so-called “ Jeokseokchong Tomb” that distinguish the tomb s grave. Jeokseokchong Tomb is the latest in Hongsan culture, and has been confirmed since 5,000 years ago. Still, is it okay to be regarded as a representative relic of Hongsan culture that began 6,000 years ago? Before the appearance of Jeokseokchong Tomb, there is a stone tomb site, but there is a clear difference from the complex tomb structure of the Niuheliang site In addition, the Jade and earthenware of Hongsan culture are very different from that of the first generation and the time when the Jeokseokchong Tomb appeared. Therefore, tomb sites with Jeokseokchong Tomb including Dongshanzui site and Niuheliang ruins, need to be separated from those of the previous period.
