국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 소규모 초등학교에서 운영한 학생 중심의 문화예술교육 프로그램에 관한 사례를 살펴보는 것이다. 본 연구의 사례는 2017년부터 2020년까지 최근 4년 동안 학교 문화예술교육 지원사업인 ‘예술꽃 씨앗학교’로 선정된 경기도 이천 D초등학교의 뮤지컬 창작활동 프로그램이다. 본 사례 프로그램의 목표는 학생들에게 다양한 뮤지컬 체험활동을 통한 예술적 감성과 창의성 향상에 두었고, 전체 프로그램의 과정은 학생들이 직접 기획, 연출, 연기, 공연, 홍보 등을 담당하며 스스로 훌륭한 기획자이자 꼬마 예술가가 되어보는 학생 중심의 뮤지컬 창작 교육프로그램이다. 적용된 프로그램의 주요 교육과정 내용은 시나리오 창작, 움직임과 연극, 무용, 발성 및 노래 수업이며, 창작 뮤지컬 내용의 주제는 해마다 대주제에 따라 학년별소주제를 정하여 단계적인 교육 활동을 적용하였다. 한편, 참여자를 대상으로 프로그램의 경험과 의미를 알아보기 위해 설문 조사와 심층 면담을 하였는데, 이에 따른 결과로는 문화 소외지역 학생들을 위한 직접적인 예술 창작활동의 기회 제공, 예술적 표현력 증진, 문화예술 향유를 통한 문화적 역량 및 공동체 의식 함양, 창의성 신장 등의 효과가 있었고, 학생 참여자들에게 나타난 가장 큰 변화로는 자신감과 자기 주도적 학습능력 향상, 적극적인 학습 태도의 변화 등이 나타났다. 본 연구를 통해 소규모 초등학교에서의 학생 중심 문화예술교육 프로그램의 구체적인 운영사례를 탐구할 수 있었고, 향후 본 연구에서 살펴본 프로그램 사례의 내용은 다른 소규모학교 문화예술교육의 하나의 모델로서의 역할을 할 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

This study aims to look at a case of a student-centered culture and art education program operated in a small elementary school. The case observed in this study is the musical creation program of D Elementary School in Icheon, selected as an ‘Arts-Flower Seed School’, which is a school culture and art education support project, for the past 4 years from the years of 2017 to 2020. The objective of this case was to improve artistic sensibility and creativity by providing students with various musical experience activities and the entire program process involved students personally planning, directing, acting, performing, and promoting, making it a student-centered musical creative education program in which students become independently excellent planners and artists. The main curriculum contents of the applied musical creation program are scenario, movements and theater, creative dance, and vocalization and singing classes and for creative musical themes, sub-themes are established by grade according to year and by major theme. On one hand, surveys and interviews conducted on participants on their program experiences and meanings showed that there were effects of cultural competence enhancement and community competence enhancement through the promotion of artistic expression and the enjoyment of culture and art by providing direct opportunities of culture and art to students in culturally underprivileged areas and the greatest changes that appeared among students were changes in confidence, creativity, enhanced self-directed learning skills, and active learning attitudes. Through this study, observations could be made of an operational case example of a student-centered culture and art education program in a small elementary school and the case contents of this study will be able to serve as a model for cultural and art education conducted in other small schools.
