국문 초록

본 연구는 자살에 관한 대인관계 심리이론과 선행연구들을 바탕으로 노인이 대인관계에서 인식하는 짐스러움과 좌절된 소속감과 자살생각 간의 관계에서 우울의 매개효과를 밝혀 노인 자살예방 방안을 마련하는데 기여하고자 시도되었다. 춘천 거주 노인 2,000명을 대상으로 연구모형의 적합성과 우울의 매개효과를 검증한 결과 연구모형이 실제 자료에 잘 부합됨을 확인하였다. 그리고 노인이 인식한 짐스러움은 자살생각에 직접적으로 영향을 미치는 반면, 좌절된 소속감은 노인의 자살생각에 직접적으로 영향을 미치지 않았으며, 노인이 인식한 짐스러움과 좌절된 소속감은 모두 우울을 매개하여 자살생각에 간접적으로 영향을 미쳤다. 본 연구결과를 바탕으로 노인 자살예방을 위해 노인의 의존을 바라보는 사회적 관점의 전환, 노인의 부정적인지 왜곡을 바로잡기 위한 인지행동치료와 문제해결치료, 사회적으로 고립된 노인에 대한 관심이 필요함을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

This study attempted to verify the mediation effects of the depression between the perceived burdensomeness, the thwarted belongingness and the suicidal ideation among the older adults in Korea. The research model was proposed based on Interpersonal-psychological theory of suicidal behavior and the previous studies. The Structural equation model(SEM) was employed to fulfill the study objective. Subjects included 2,000 older adults dwelling in Chuncheon. As the results, the direct effect of the perceived burdensomeness on the suicidal ideation was statistically significant, but the direct effect of the thwarted belongingness on the suicidal ideation was not statistically significant. The perceived burdensomeness and the thwarted belongingness were found to increase to the suicidal ideation indirectly through the depression. Therefore, the results suggested that the shift of the social perspective on the elder’s dependence, the cognitive behavioral therapy and the problem solving therapy to correct the older adult’s negative cognitive distortion, and the attention to the socially isolated elderly are necessary.
