국문 초록

이 연구는 국내의 신인작가들이 문단에 진입한 뒤 마주하는 문제점과 그 원인을 문학제도의 측면에서 분석하고 탐구한 것이다.등단제도를 거친 이후 신인작가가 중견작가가 되어가는 과정은 아직까지 본격적인 학적 논의 장에서 검토된 바가 없고,이를 문학제도의 관점에서 분석된 사례도 아직 집적되지 못하고 있다. 본고는 우리 문학장에서 신인의 생존과 문학활동에 있어 문학상 수상이 중요한 역할을 한다는 점에 주목했다.오늘날 문학상은 소수의 기성작가에 주어지는 것이 일반이며,많은 경우 소수의 작가가 중복수상을 거듭하고 있다.이 과정에서 문제적인 것은 편향적인 선택과 배제의 메커니즘이 작용하고 있다는 점이다.본고는 오늘날 문학이 자본과 결탁하면서 베스트셀러와 스타작가를 집중적으로 육성해내는 시스템을 운영하고 있으며,지금의 문학상 제도는 문예지,등단제도,그리고 신인의 생존에 영향을 미치고 있다는 점을 비판적으로 검토하고 있다.신인작가는 문학장에서 생존하기위해 재등단과 복수등단,문학상 수상 등의 인정투쟁을 벌여야 하는 환경에 놓여 있으며,이는 문단의 관행으로 굳어가고 있다. 젊은작가상은 신인을 조명하는 문학상으로,대형출판사가 주관하는만큼 파급력이 크고 여러 신인작가를 유명작가로 키워냈다.그러나 젊은작가상에서 조차 중복수상의 형태는 사라지지 않는다.출판자본을 외면하지 못하는 문단에서,여전히 소수의신인만이 선택되고 다수의 신인은 사라지고 있는 것이다.이러한 현상의 원인이 무엇이며,대안은 무엇인가 하는 점을 논하기 위해 이 연구에서는 신인에게 주어지는 문학상 제도의 실증적 검토와 분석을 수행했다.

영문 초록

This study explored and analyzed the problems faced by new writers after they enter the literary world in terms of the literary system and the causes of those problems. The process of a new writer going through the debut system and becoming a middle-level writer has yet to be reviewed in the field of full-fledged academic discussion, and the cases analyzed from the perspective of the literary system have yet to be counted. This study found that literary awards play an important role in the survival of new writers and literary activities. Currently, literature awards are generally given to a few established writers, and a few authors have repeatedly won duplicate awards. The problem with this process is the likelihood of biased selection and exclusion. This paper reviews the notion that today s literature is in collusion with capital and operates a system that intensively fosters best sellers and star writers, and that the current literary award system has an impact on the survival of newcomers. New writers are in an environment where they have to fight for recognition in order to survive in the literary arena, and this is becoming a practice in literary circles. The Young Writer Award has developed many new writers into famous artists. However, even in this Award, duplicate awards still occur. Many newcomers are still disappearing. To discuss the causes of this phenomenon and possible alternatives, this study conducted an empirical review and analysis of the literary system for newcomers.
