영문 초록

This study aims at analyzing the impacts of the regional development projects for the underdeveloped regions by focusing on the 1st and 2nd Development Promotion Zones(DPZ) and drawing methodological and policy-related implications by evaluating the impacts of regional development program empirically. For the empirical analysis on the effects of the DPZ project, this study employs the quasi-experimental control group method. Then, the impacts of the DPZ projects are explored to find statistically meaningful differences between the experimental group(DPZs) and the control group(the statistical matching cities & counties with DPZs). The results from empirical analysis show that the decrease of regional population rate, the increase of local tax per person, and the ratio of manufacturing workers in DPZs are not generated consistently from the 1st & 2nd DPZs, compared with their control groups.
