중년 남성 출소자의 시간 체험에 관한 현존재분석적 이해

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 출소자로 중년기를 살아가는 남성들이 실존적 존재로서 시간 체험을 하면서어떠한 경험과 인식을 하는지 깊이 있게 탐구하는 것이다. 연구를 위하여 총 5명의 연구참여자와일대일 면담을 수행해 자료를 수집했고, 이를 Medard Boss(1963)의 현존재분석 접근에 기반을두어 심도 있게 이해하였다. 자료분석 결과, 연구참여자들의 시간 체험에 관한 14개의 하위범주가드러났다. 이는 다시 Medard Boss가 현존재의 주요 특징으로 제시한 여러 실존범주 중에서 역사성, 공존성, 기분의 조율성, 신체성, 죽음의 존재라는 다섯 가지 개념에 토대해 구조화되었다. 즉, 연구참여자들의 시간 체험에 관한 의미는 ‘남보다 유독 굴곡진 팔자’, ‘시간 나눌 이 잃어버린 생존’, ‘불안과 후회가 뒤엉킨 매 순간’, ‘조심스레 내딛는 새 출발’, ‘언제나 끝과 함께한 운명’처럼 5개의범주와 함께 밝혀졌다. 또한, 연구참여자들의 시간 체험에 관한 최종 분석결과는 ‘회한으로 되감는인생의 태엽’이라는 중심주제와 같았다. 끝으로, 본 연구에서 발견한 내용을 중심으로 몇 가지논의점을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to look into the experience and awareness of middle-aged male ex-offenders who experience time as existential beings on the whole. Data were collected by conducting one-on-one interviews with five research participants. Also, the collected data were understood in depth based on Medard Boss’s Daseinsanalytic approach (1963). In the result of the data analysis, 14 sub-categories of meanings about the research participants’ time experiences were revealed. These were structured based on five concepts of the various existentialias, including historicity, coexistence, fundamental attunement, corporeality, and being-towards-death suggested by Medard Boss as an essential characteristic of Daseinsanalysis. In other words, the meanings of time experiences were revealed with five categories, including ‘A fate with exceptionally more ups and downs than that of others,’ ‘Survival after losing people to share time with,’ ‘Each moment with anxiety and regret tangled up,’ ‘A new start by taking a step forward discreetly,’ and ‘A destiny always with the end.’ In addition, the result of the final analysis of the study participants’ time experiences was like the main theme, ‘the clockwork of life wound again with regret.’ At last, a few discussions were presented, centering around the findings of this study.
