국내 주요 대학 글쓰기 교육의 목표와 내용

국문 초록

최근 들어, 국내 대학 글쓰기 교육의 목표와 내용이 다양해지고 있다. 이에 이 연구는 각 대학에서 추구하는 글쓰기 교육의 목표가 무엇이며, 이와 함께이러한 목표 달성을 위해 각 대학에서는 어떤 내용을 가르치고 있는지를 분석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 대학마다 글쓰기 교육의 목표는 크게 ‘의사소통 능력의 향상’, ‘사고력 계발’, ‘자기 표현을 통한 자아 성찰의 기회 제공’이라는 방향으로 정리해 볼수 있다. 그런데 국내 주요 대학의 글쓰기 교재와 강의계획서 등을 통해 분석한 결과, 대체적으로 의사소통 능력 향상에 맞춰져 있었다. 그리고 글쓰기교육의 내용은 과정 중심 글쓰기 이론과 장르 중심 글쓰기 이론을 바탕으로하고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 그런데 사고력 계발이나 자기 성찰 기회 제공과 같은 대학 글쓰기 교육의목표 실현을 위한 구체적인 전략이 드러나 있지 않는다는 한계가 있었다. 또한 글쓰기의 과정을 설명할 때에 회귀적 글쓰기 과정에 대해서는 고려되어 있지 않으며, 단편적으로만 장르별 글쓰기 방법을 제시하고 있다는 한계 또한 발견할 수 있었다. 따라서 대학 글쓰기 교재를 추후 개편하고자 할 때에는 각 대학에서 추구하는 글쓰기 교육의 목표가 무엇이며, 이러한 목표를 반영할 수 있는 방법이 무엇인지에 대한 세심한 고려가 필요하리라 본다.

영문 초록

Recently, the goals and contents of Korean university writing education have been diversified. The purpose of this study is to analyze what the goal of writing education in each university is and what contents are taught to achieve these goals. The goal of writing education at universities can be summed up in the direction of ‘improving communication skills’, ‘developing thinking skills’, and ‘providing opportunities for introspection through self-expression’. However, By analyzing through the textbooks and lecture plans, it was generally focused on improving communication skills. And the content of writing education is based on process-based writing theory and genre-centered writing theory. There was a limit that it did not reveal specific strategies for realizing the goals of university writing education, such as the development of the thinking ability or the opportunity of self-reflection was not revealed. In addition, when describing the process of writing, the recursive writing process is not considered, and it is also found that there is a limitation that the writing method according to the genre is presented only in fragments. Therefore, when revising college writing materials later, it is necessary to pay close attention to what the goal of writing education in each university is and what method to reflect this goal.
