대학생의 노년세대와의 소통을 위한글쓰기 수업 방법론

국문 초록

본 논문에서는 고령화 사회를 살아가야 하는 젊은 대학생들이 연령에 대한부정적 선입관과 편견을 없애고 노인과의 긍정적인 관계형성을 할 수 있는한 방안으로, 글쓰기 수업방법론을 모색했다. 본고에서 제시한 학습방안은감성독서에 기반한 독서 감상문 쓰기와 비평에세이 쓰기이다. 이는 공감형성과정을 고려한 절차적 단계에 의한 글 읽기와 글쓰기이다. 읽기 텍스트는 다양한 인간들의 총체적이고 문제적 삶이 형상화된 점을 감안하여 소설 장르를선택했다. 본 논의의 진행과정과 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 건강한 사회적 소통은 공감 능력이 전제되어야 하기 때문에 공감형성과정에 대해 살펴보았다. 본고에서 검토한 공감단계는 ‘감정전염 ⟶ 감정합일⟶ 타자지향적인 공감’이다. 둘째, 학습자에게 감성적 직관에 의한 텍스트 읽기 방법인 감성독서를 하게 한 후, 인상적인 문구에 밑줄을 긋고 느낀 점을간단하게 메모하게 했다. 학습자는 텍스트 속 노년세대의 인물이나 이미지와직접 대면하여 마음으로 수용했기 때문에 자연스럽게 감정이입을 하면서 자신의 경험이나 주변 인물에 대한 기억을 떠올렸다. 셋째, 독서 감상문을 쓰면서 감정합일에 이르도록 유도했다. 소설 작품을 읽으면서 노인이라는 타인의 모습에서 자신과 다른 사람의 이미지를 떠올린 학습자는 ‘타인에 대한 연민’, ‘자기반성과 다짐’과 같은 인식의 느낌을 자기화했다. 넷째, 독서 감상문에대한 토론과정을 거쳐 비평에세이를 쓰게 함으로써 타자지향적인 공감에 이르도록 했다. 학습자는 토론으로 서로의 의견을 나눔으로써 비평에세이 쓰기활동에서 개인적인 감상의 근거를 파악하고 객관화할 수 있었으며 진정한 주체로서 타자의 존재, 즉 노년세대를 인정하고 이해할 수 있었다. 타자의 존재를 그 자체로서 인정할 수 있는 학습자 각자의 주체성 확립은다른 사람의 아픔에 대한 감정전염과 감정합일에서 나아가 타자지향적인 공감에 이를 수 있는 가능성으로 이어졌다. 타인에게 공감할 수 있는 능력은 건강한사회적 소통을 향해 한 걸음씩 다가갈 수 있는 발판으로 작용할 것이다.

영문 초록

This study is intended to explore and analyze teaching methods for writing education to help university students who will face and go through the ageing era remove their negative stereotypes and prejudice of the age, and build positive relations with the elderly. The learning method proposed in this study is writing a book report and critical essay based on emotion-centered reading. It is reading and writing by procedure considering the empathy-making process. The genre of fiction was selected as a reading text since it can show general and problematic life of multiple different kinds of people. The discussion and results of this research can be summarized as follows. First, the emotion-making process has been analyzed since an ability to have empathy is a prerequisite to create sound social communication. The empathy stage reviewed is divided into three steps, ‘emotional contagion ⟶ emotional unity ⟶ other-oriented emotion.’ Second, after learners carried out emotion-centered reading, one of text-reading methods by emotional intuition, they were required to underline expressive phrases and take short notes on how they felt about. The students were able to show their empathy to the elderly naturally and recall memories of their own experiences or characters in their life because they faced figures or images of older generations in the texts directly and accepted them with their hearts. Third, the learners were asked to be induced to emotional unity while writing a book report. The students recollecting their own and others’ images from the figures of others, the elderly, through reading novels, made feelings recognized including ‘sympathy towards others’ and ‘self-reflection and promise’ their own ones. Fourth, the students were able to ultimately have other-oriented emotion through having discussion on their book report and writing a critical essay. By sharing opinions each other through discussion, the learners studied how to discover and objectify the basis of individual’s appreciation through critical-essay-writing activities, and finally acknowledged and understood the existence of others as true subjects, generations of the old people. That each learner was able to establish their own independence about accepting others as they were has been led to emotion contagion and emotional unity towards others’ sorrow, and further, to the possibilities on reaching other-oriented emotion. The ability of sympathy to others can play a role as a foothold, in approaching sound social communication step by step. life.
