대학생의 쓰기 효능감 양상 연구

국문 초록

이 연구는 대학생들의 쓰기 효능감의 양상을 밝히기 위해 인문계 106명, 이공계 115명, 예체능계 99명, 총 320명의 대학생을 대상으로 쓰기 효능감검사를 실시하였다. 이를 위해서 미국 한 대학의 글쓰기 센터에서 대학생의쓰기 효능감을 측정하기 위해 개발한 도구를 번역하여 타당화 과정을 거쳐자료를 수집하였다. 자료 분석 결과 인문 계열 대학생의 쓰기 효능감이 가장높았고 예체능 계열이 가장 낮았다. 쓰기 효능감의 학과별 차이는 통계적으로유의하였다. 예체능 계열에서는 회화과가 가장 높은 쓰기 효능감을 보였고관현악과가 가장 낮은 효능감을 보였다. 이 결과는 같은 예체능 계열의 학생이더라도 개별 전공의 차이를 고려하여 지도하는 것이 필요하다는 점을 보여준다. 또한 대학생의 쓰기 효능감은 글쓰기 수업 학점 및 일상 쓰기와도 약하지만 통계적으로 유의한 상관을 보였다. 따라서 대학의 글쓰기 수업에서는쓰기 효능감을 신장시키기 위해 노력해야 하고, 계열별 특성을 고려하여 지도하는 것이 필요하다.

영문 초록

This study investigated the writing-efficacy of college students. We examined a total of 320 students: 106 in humanities and social sciences, 115 in science and engineering, and 99 in art and physical education. For the purposes of our analysis, we translated and validated the tools developed to measure the writing-efficacy of college students in the writing center. The humanities department scored the highest and the performing arts department scored the lowest. The differences in writing-efficacy between departments were statistically significant. Among the eleven departments participating in the study, the orchestra and dance departments showed low writing efficacy while the painting department showed high writing efficacy. This highlights the importance of considering differences in majors instead of analyzing more general disciplinary categories(i.e. the arts). In addition, we found that college student writing-efficacy had a weak but statistically significant relationship with writing class credit and daily writing. Our findings suggest that future researchers should consider the characteristics of the writing-efficacy in college writing instruction.
