Artificial Intelligence Literacy-based Teaching Conditions and Model for Improving Primary English Language Learners’ Global Digital Citizenship

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 초등영어학습자의 글로벌 디지털 시민성을 함양하기 위한 인공지능리터러시 교수·학습 조건 및 수업목표를 제안하는 것이다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기위해, 학습자의 글로벌 디지털 시민성을 함양하는 데에 적합한 개념함양모형, 직접교수법, 탐구모형, 문제 기반 학습 모형, 협력 학습 모형, 통합모형 등을 분석하였다. 교수·학습모형을 분석하는 기준은 학습자의 글로벌 디지털 시민성을 함양하기 위해 모형의 조건과특성이 적합하게 설정되어 있는지를 평가하는 것이다. 그 기준은 Reigeluth(1983)가제안한 일련의 조건 하에 실행된 결과들을 반영하였다. 분석 결과, 교수·학습 모형의공통된 특성으로 학습 목표와 연관된 자료를 검색하고, 핵심 역량을 함양하고, 테크놀로지의 이해와 적용을 기르며, 동기유발과 참여도를 제고해야 한다는 것으로 나타났다. 이특성들은 학습자의 인지적, 정의적, 심동적 영역들과 밀접하게 관련되어 있으므로 개발할교수·학습 모형은 그 영역들을 기반으로 개발할 필요가 있다는 것을 함의하고 있다. 또한, 분석결과에 의하면, 교수·학습 모형은 인공지능의 지능형 튜터링 시스템의 하나로개발할 테크놀로지를 활용한 교실 상호작용 시스템(CIST)을 기반으로 개발해야 한다는것이다. 그 시스템은 학습자들이 문화적 배경이 다른 화자들과 소통하고 협력하여 글로벌이슈를 창의적으로 해결할 수 있는 능력을 함양할 수 있도록 점검하고 스캐폴딩할 수있도록 설계되어 있기 때문이다. 이러한 결과들을 반영하여 학습자들이 자료를 조사하고, 문제를 해결하는 사고능력을 함양하고, 글로벌 이슈를 실질적으로 해결할 수 있는 활동을실행하며, 학습 활동을 스스로 성찰하는 STAR모델을 제시하였다. 향후 학습자의 글로벌디지털 시민성을 함양하기 위해서는 시스템의 구체적인 설계와 구현 방안에 대한 지속적이고 체계적인 연구를 수행할 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to suggest teaching conditions and teaching model based on artificial intelligence for improving primary English language learners’ global digital citizenship. To achieve the purpose, prior teaching models such as the concept development model, the direct instruction model, the inquiry model, the problem-based learning model, the cooperative learning model, and the integrative model were analyzed because they are well-designed for learners to improve their global digital citizenship. The criteria of analyzing teaching models have been developed for assessing whether teaching conditions and characteristics of the models were established for learners to improve their global digital citizenship. It was found that the teaching models have common characteristics-surveying data related to learning goals, promoting critical thinking skills and creativity, fostering understanding and application of technology widely used in teaching, and arousing high motivation and involvement in classroom activities. Furthermore, the teaching models were reviewed in terms of AI, because AI is applications of software algorithms and techniques that enable learners to have ability of solving problems or completing tasks in communication and collaboration with classmates or speakers of different cultural backgrounds in classrooms. From the findings, it was suggested that a set of teaching conditions based on AI need to be considered in classrooms, and teaching model based on AI should be established for primary English language learners to improve their global digital citizenship.
