국문 초록

본 연구는 국내 외국인 근로자들에게 실용 문화적 측면에서 대중문화인 카페 음료 만들기를 통하여 한국어와 카페 음료 조리법을 교육하고자 한다. 외국인 근로자들의 경우 4년 10개월의 체류가 끝나면 자국으로 돌아가야 하는데 이들 중에는 한국에서 배운 기술로 사업을 하고 싶어 하는 사람들이 많다. 현재 한국에서 대중적인 사업의 하나인 카페 창업은 외국인들도 관심을 가지는 사업 테마이다. 그러므로 이 연구에서는 카페 메뉴로 음료를 만드는 과정을 통해 외국인 학습자들에게 쉽고 흥미 있는 수업을 제공함과 동시에 실습을 함으로써 비즈니스와도 연결할 수 있다고 보았다. 연구를 위해 먼저 이와 관련된 선행연구를 살펴보고 카페 메뉴를 찾아 한국어 교육에 활용할 수 있는 방법을 알아보았다. 수업 내용으로는 주제와 관련된 동영상 시청하기, 카페 메뉴 선별하여 레시피 교재 만들기, 레시피 교재 내의 수업의 과정을 메뉴별로 정리하였다. 연구 대상은 광주지역의 세종외국인문화센터에서 한국어를 배우는 외국인 근로자 중 이 수업에 관심 있는 신청자 6명을 대상으로 하였고, 3명씩 2조로 하여 하루 2시간씩 주 2회로 6주 동안 수업을 진행하였다. 수업 결과, 카페 음료 주문하기와 손님 응대하기 등의 카페와 관련한 실제적 한국어 말하기 향상에 도움이 될 뿐만 아니라 학습자들이 카페 메뉴를 만드는 기술을 배워서 본국으로 돌아간 후 카페 사업의 가능성도 열어 줄 수 있다는 점에서도 부수적인 효과가 있었음을 알 수 있었다.

영문 초록

This study aims to educate foreign workers in Korea on how to speak Korean naturally by making cafe drinks in practical and cultural aspects. Foreign workers are required to return to their countries after their four-year and 10-month stay. Many foreign workers want to go back to their home country and do business by learning technology during their stay in Korea. Currently, one of the popular businesses in Korea is the setup of a cafe. Therefore, the study aims to teach foreign workers Korean easier and more interestingly and practice the process again through the process of making drinks with a cafe menu, one of Korean culture. The class also has the advantage of being able to connect with business after going back their home countries. First, we looked at the prior research related to this and found out how to use the cafe menu for Korean language education. The content summarizes that practical Korean language classes are possible by watching videos related to the topic, selecting cafe menus, making textbooks, and using conversations used in cafes in Korean conversation textbooks. The study was conducted twice a week (Saturday, Sunday) for two hours a day, with six applicants interested for the class, by the two groups of three each among foreign workers learning Korean at the Sejong Foreign Cultural Center in Gwangju. This class not only helped them speak Korean about making cafe drinks, but also helped them speak practical Korean about cafes such as ordering cafe drinks and serving customers. In addition, they learned how to make cafe menus and opened up the possibility of cafe business after going their home countries. The results of the study showed that learners rose in practical Korean speaking levels and had good beverage manufacturing skills effectively.
