순서형 확률예보 모형에 대한 새로운 예측성 평가측도의 제안

국문 초록

통계적 예보모형의 예측성 평가는 최적 모형의 선정과 예측 정확도의 향상을 비교하는 데 중요한 지표가 된다. 본 논문에서는 계급별 강수확률예보와 같은 순서형 계급별 확률예보모형의 예측성 평가측도를 제안하고 특성을 연구하였다. 제안된 평가측도는 ( -∞, 1 ]의 범위를 가지며 정확도가 높을수록 1에 가까운 값을 갖도록 정의하였다. 순서형 자료이므로 정확한 예보로부터 잘못된 예보에 이르는 가중치를 고려하였으며, 임의예보의 효과를 제거함으로써 예보모형에 의한 순수한 예측성 향상을 계량화하였다. 제안된 평가측도를 이용한 모의실험 결과에 따르면 임의예보의 형태가 달라져도 평가측도의 변동이 매우 작아 순서형 자료에 대한 모든 예보모형 평가에 활용할 수 있으리라 기대된다.

영문 초록

This paper concentrates on the skill score of predictability of forecast models for ordinary data based on the probability forecasting. For the categorical probability forecast like the probability of classified precipitation, new skill score of predictability of forecast models, which maximal value is 1 for the exact forecast case, is proposed. The proposed skill score considers the weights, which are determined by the distance of the observed category and the forecasted category, and the elimination of the effect of random forecast like the Heidke skill score. In the simulation study, three types of forecast models (well-forecasted case, middle case and bad-forecasted case) and four types of distribution of random forecast(symmetric, skew to the left, skew to the right and bimodal case) are considered. The results of the simulation say that the variation of the proposed skill score is very small invariant to the distribution of random forecast.
