메가이벤트가 외식산업에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 논문에서는 1980년대 이후에 대표적인 메가이벤트인 86아시안게임, 88올림픽, 93대전엑스포 및 IMF 관리체제 등의 메가이벤트가 외식산업에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위하여 경제환경변수 및 메가이벤트와 관련된 가변수를 이용하여 외식산업과의 관련성에 대하여 알아보았다. 분석결과 88올림픽과 93대전엑스포는 외식산업에 유의한 영향을 미치지 않은 것으로 나타났으며, 86아시안게임 및 IMF 관리체제는 외식산업에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 86아시안게임이 외식산업의 업태 중에서 일식업체수의 증가를 가져왔는데, 이러한 현상은 86아시안게임과 88올림픽게임을 고려한 업체들의 투자가 미리 이루어지고, 접근성이 용이한 일본 관광객의 증가를 고려한 것으로 판단된다.

영문 초록

We analysed the relation of a food service industry using a variable of economic environment and mega-events in order to find out that it was affected by the representative mega-events for after 1980 s, such as 86 Asian game, ’88 Olympic game, 93 Daejeon World exposition, and IMF economic crisis. This paper focused on the model estimations of an effects in mega-event. The estimation was measured the relationship between a dependent variable and a dummy variable associated with a mega-event. As a result, the food service industry was statistically affected by 86 Asian game and IMF economic crisis, though not statistically affected by ’88 Olympic game and 93 Daejeon World exposition. In particular 86 Asian game brought an expansion of Japanese restaurant, which was caused by a prior investment in consideration of 86 Asian game and ’88 Olympic game and an increase of Japanese tourists.
